Ongoing Business: Sustainability Plan - Draft • Discuss presentation with Karen Herrick • Karen expressed interest in have the RCAC make a presentation to the Select Board. • RMLD to make a presentation to the Select Board at an upcoming meeting. • What's next for this plan? Create a top 10 list? • Identify the short term (now) vs longer term actions. • Transportation actions have support from the Town and RMLD Agreed to pursue the adoption of the Stretch Code for Buildings • Support RMLD's efforts provide more renewable energy • Partnering with a business to support a farmer's market • Define high level objectives so that resources can be assigned Page I 1 Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes • Environmental Actions within Reading • There are many civic groups promoting environmental and sustainability • Have the RCAC be a "clearinghouse" for other groups • Elevate Sustainability on the Town website page. Route 28 Road Diet • April 10 presentation by Howard Stein Hudson • Jeff has made suggestions for proving the viability of the Road Diet • Comparison to Rt. 114 where there is a space for turning. • Bike -ability and walkability of the Road Diet is desirable (reduce carbon emissions) Celeste to post material on walkability along with the link to the Road Diet Feedback form. • Talk with neighbors about the impacts from road diet.
