Ongoing Business: • Chuck Underhill RMLD Residential Conservation Service not attending this meeting He will be at the meeting on July 22. • Green Communities — Select Board Presentation on July 21 • Karen to endorse the Green Communities Program. • Karen accepts the Sustainability Plan as presented. • Dave presented slides that address the Green Communities Criteria. • Climate Advisory Committee to focus on Criteria 4 and S 0 4. Adopt Fuel Efficiency Vehicle Purchase Policy o S. Minimize life cycle cost in new construction (adopt Stretch Code) • Education and promotion important role for the committee • Define high level objectives so that resources can be assigned Page 1 1 Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes • Sustainability Plan — Select Board Presentation • Reformat Sustainability Plan for presentation • Keep bullets simple with detail provided verbally • Focus on Transportation and Buildings with Food and Health to follow • Follow up with costs, due dates and actions RCAC Website • There are many civic groups promoting environmental and sustainability. • Have the RCAC be a "clearinghouse" for other groups • Elevate Sustainability on the Town Website page. • Wordpress, Facebook, Town Webpage platforms with different capabilities • Have a Frequently Asked Questions area • Index other Environmental Groups in Town • Consider who we are trying to reach, what the call of action and responsibilities for posting and maintenance • Communication issues and sustainability plan will keep us busy • Celeste to provide Website best practices Route 28 Road Diet • Jeff sent emails to Howard Stein Hudson (nothing has been received) • Jeff has made suggestions for proving the viability of the Road Diet • Comparison to Rt. 114 where there is a space for turning. • Bike -ability and walkabllity of the Road Diet is desirable (reduce carbon emissions) • Talk with neighbors about the impacts from road diet.
