Select Board members would like a bigger picture meeting too. There is talk about redoing the
heating systems for several schools in town. Bob LeLacheur has a big picture meeting coming
up soon in November for the Select Board. We broke out into discussion on how Lexington has
upgraded to heat pumps in their schools. David is going to probe this with Bob and Denise is
going to ask Karen Herrick where the heating discussion went with Fincom.
Andy and David spoke about this ad hoc group that all have National Grid and went to a
meeting in Arlington. These towns are trying to up the level of communication with National Grid
especially due to all that's happening with gas. National Grid doesn't understand why they have
questions and concerns and says they have a great relationship with al of the DPW's in these
towns. A meeting is coming up on October 15" with select boards to find out where National
Grid is going with all of this. Gail Page is having a meeting at the library to discuss the gas issue
and leaks and transitioning away from gas to electricity.
Jeff is doing some investigation on hazard mitigation and how to measure. He looked at
Reading Mitigation plan MAPC from 2017.

We then started talking about a brainstorming session on Google to write down all of our ideas,
thoughts and add to it. David got a copy of Arlington's bid from Brucie Moulton (she's on a gas
leaks committee) who gave Arlington a bid for checking their 500 gas leaks and to check all
their trees to see if they are in danger of dying due to the gas.
We are now talking about how we want to move forward with looking at the reports that are at
our access. We needs things on buildings adapting where will we get our electricity from, do we
need new building codes, what about transportation, tree diseases, health issue, recycling,
waste management, flooding and local food access.
Denise McCarthy is going to grab a presentation board from Staples so we can start
brainstorming our issues to discuss further and prioritize them and then to narrow it down.
The meeting adjourned at 5:40 pm
