Meeting Opened at 6:37pm
Motion made to accept the minutes of 10/3, seconded, vote taken, accepted by all
members.
Select Board Update- Mark Dockser
Town Forum held on 11/1 was well attended. Included presentations on user focused
design, accessibility and inclusivity, architectural design and consideration for senior
centers, town manager overview and council on aging collaboration. Article 19, which was
on the Warrant for Town Meeting, will be postponed due to the need for additional
information. Negotiations are underway with Walgreens by Select Board. Inspection and
appraisal to be conducted of 17 Harden Street. RFP will be posted for an OPM to oversee the
project. On Dec 6 the Umass Survey results will be available. Rite Aid on Haven Street is
now on the market.
ReCalc Update -John Parsons
Recorded videos of all ReCalc meetings are available on rctv.org. ReCalc presented findings
to date to the Select Board. Well done presentation. Go to rctv.org to view the recorded
meeting.
Elder & Human Services Update- Chris Kowaleski
Chris reviewed the latest participation report. Participation continues to increase in Elder
Services. New wellness program conducted in collaboration with the library has been very
well attended. Harrow Chicken Supper sponsored by the police department well attended.
On 11/19 a Thanksgiving Dinner Event sponsored by our state Legislators to be held for 150
seniors. Register at PSC. Full time receptionist has been hired, Anna Assini, for the PSC.
Hiring for the contract volunteer coordinator position has been put on hold by the Town.

Request was made for $700 from the Burbank Trust Fund for next months programs:
birthday lunch, pizza & movie day. Motion made to approve funding, seconded, all
members present voted in favor.
Symonds Way Representative
Karen Janowski volunteered and was approved to serve on the Symonds Way Committee to
represent the Council on Aging.
COA Representation on the HIVES Board
The following people Indicated an Interest: Michelle Clopper, Jenna, and Chris. Applications
must be submitted to MVES.
Financial Report -
Reports included in the packet were reviewed.
New Business- New Senior Center and Outreach to COA Seniors
After discussion it was agreed to form a working group to brainstorm strategies and ideas to
Inform the 60+ community on plans for the new senior center as well as to reach out to the
Reading community at -large. The working group will present Ideas at the next meeting,
volunteers included: Joan Coco, Beverly Cunio, Nancy Ziemlak, and Rosemarie
DeBennedetto.
Update New Member Orientation Notebook
A work group was formed to work on updating the new member orientation notebook:
Jenna G., Chris K., Karen J and will report at the next meeting.
Motion made to adjourn at 8:36pm, seconded and all approved.
