Call to accept meeting minutes from previous meeting on June 8, 2022
Mark Dockser: Minor Change #1— correct bottom of page 1 referencing ARPA to Reading ARPA
Advisory Committee (RAAC) and Minor changes #2 correct last line regarding the feasibility
funds should say that these funds must be committed by February 2023

Communication plans:
John Sasso: Feedback on Friends and Family Day from June 11, 2022
Collected a few names and email addresses.
COA had a lot of interest — likely due to the inclusion of a raffle to attract
people

John Sasso: Draft of a Newsletter
John Sasso: Secured a student to help create a video. Communicate about the Senior
Center but also highlight some of the deficiencies. Create a story board for the video.
Mark Dockser: Use photos and videos from other Senior Centers as an aspirational video
of what could be. COA needs to be involved.
Ron Assini: Perhaps interview seniors who use the Center to provide their point of view.
Jean Delios: Would like to be involved. Also, we have access to the communication
people from Town Hall to help with professional feedback.

What are some of the summaries from the 3 community forums?
How do we share what we heard from the forums?

Focus Groups —
June staff Focus group —15 people.
3 more focus groups scheduled for July.
• Rising Seniors (Zoom meeting being scheduled, July 26, 2022,7:00 p.m. open to
all interested residents who fall within this age group of "rising seniors")
• Volunteers and Residents (July 27, 2022) —10:00 a.m. at Town Hall (by invitation)
• Stakeholders (July 27, 2022) —1:00 p.m. at Town Hall (by invitation)

Benchmarking
To date we have 16 reports on visits to other community centers.
Jean Delios:
Survey and postcard mailing to 18 years and over, using town database. To be sent
shortly after Labor Day. With QR codes to online survey. Paper versions will be available
at the Senior Center, Town Hall, Library, Post office etc.
Circulate the final survey Post card review by July 18.
We should print out extra copies of the postcard available at various locations in town.
John Sasso:
Now that Select Board authorized $300k for feasibility study.
What should we prepare for the Town Meeting in November?
Mark Dockser: We should consider timelines for next steps, preparing for Town Meeting with
all the datapoints that have been collected (Survey, Peer Community reports etc)
Town issued an RFP for short or longer term space.
ReCalc Charge sunset date may have to be moved beyond November 30. Mark Dockser will
coordinate as needed.
