MA. 2022 JUN 21 AH 9:49 John Coote, Greg Stepler, Brad Congdon, Kirk McCormick, Patrick Tompkins Members - Not Present: Nancy Twomey Others Present: Joe Huggins, Facilities Director, Kevin Cabuzzi, Assistant Facilities Director, Jack Devir, Resident, Ryan Percival, DPW Engineer, Fidel Maltez, Town Manager Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Topics of Discussion: This meeting was held remotely on Zoom. Meeting called to order at 6:01 PM. The meeting minutes from the 2-7-2022 were reviewed and approved. Ryan Percival gave an update on Water Tower Project. Land stripping has begun. Meeting tomorrow with contractors regarding soil conditions, stock piling and removal. Roughly 1 to 1 1/2 months switching over from tank to new temporary antenna tower. John Coote asked for a set of plans for the temporary antenna tower. Ryan to provide. Pat Tompkins asked Ryan if site would be dormant once tower is complete. Ryan said he believes work will continue which would first be the demo of the existing tank. There was some discussion as to where the Permanent Building Committee's (PBC's) role on the water tower project starts and stops. John Coote requested to see submittals on the foundation and pedestal for the new tower. Greg Stepler suggested any requests for documentation to Include proper parties for transparency and to avoid delays. Brad Congdon asked if with the tank offline, it affects the Fire Department's ability to fight fires. It does not. Joe Huggins updated the committee on facilities capital projects. Pat Tompkins brought up the Killam School Project being accepted into the eligibility phase by the MSBA. Rage 1 1 Fidel Maltez spoke about the Kitlam Project and the process involved on getting the MSBA's approval of the project. John Coote brought up the issue of carbon footprint of a proposed project vs cost. Joe Huggins spoke on how it could greatly increase the cost of projects. John explained what he meant was reducing the carbon footprint more so in the construction process and not the carbon footprint of the building once completed. Meeting adjourned at 7:14 pm. Page 1 2
