Topics of Discussion:
This meeting was held remotely on Zoom. Meeting called to order at 6:01 PM.
The meeting minutes from the 2-7-2022 were reviewed and approved.
Ryan Percival gave an update on Water Tower Project. Land stripping has begun. Meeting
tomorrow with contractors regarding soil conditions, stock piling and removal. Roughly 1 to
1 1/2 months switching over from tank to new temporary antenna tower.
John Coote asked for a set of plans for the temporary antenna tower. Ryan to provide.
Pat Tompkins asked Ryan if site would be dormant once tower is complete. Ryan said he
believes work will continue which would first be the demo of the existing tank.
There was some discussion as to where the Permanent Building Committee's (PBC's) role on
the water tower project starts and stops.
John Coote requested to see submittals on the foundation and pedestal for the new tower.
Greg Stepler suggested any requests for documentation to Include proper parties for
transparency and to avoid delays.
Brad Congdon asked if with the tank offline, it affects the Fire Department's ability to fight
fires. It does not.
Joe Huggins updated the committee on facilities capital projects.
Pat Tompkins brought up the Killam School Project being accepted into the eligibility phase
by the MSBA.
Rage 1 1
Fidel Maltez spoke about the Kitlam Project and the process involved on getting the MSBA's
approval of the project.
John Coote brought up the issue of carbon footprint of a proposed project vs cost. Joe
Huggins spoke on how it could greatly increase the cost of projects. John explained what he
meant was reducing the carbon footprint more so in the construction process and not the
carbon footprint of the building once completed.
Meeting adjourned at 7:14 pm.
