Meeting Minutes
Pearl St (Ray will check on it)
Kurchian Woods Pondview Lane (Kathy will ask Tim)
3. April 30th Workday
Kathy Kelly will confirm who is working each day
Tom Gardiner recommended we use Trex for the boardwalk repair to be consistent with
what was required for other projects and therefore have three stringers 10 inches on center.
The discussion revolved around The TC being consistent and setting the example. Kathy will
check of whether the remaining budget will allow for this, and will check with Chuck Tirone
about the design change.
If there isn't enough money to do the planned 20 feet of boardwalk we can do 10 feet for
now.
Kathy will bring water, snack and first aid supplies. Members should bring their own lunch.
4. Girl Scout Walk May 15th 1:30-3:OOPM (Kathy)
Daisy scouts (6 and 7 year olds) asked for a walk in the Town Forest. Kathy will lead it.
5. Library Summer Kick Off June 24 4:00-6:OOPM
Theme is Get Outdoors. Looking for us to staff a table. Dave Williams and Ray Vaillancoun
will handle it.
6. Friends and Family Day June 11th
We will have a table at Birch Meadow. Will put on a later agenda.
7. There was discussion about the role of the Staff Liaison to the Reading Trails
Committee.
We discussed how much communication and permission is required for various levels of
ongoing activity. Kathy will work on feedback to the Town in this, with input of committee
members.
8. There was discussion of the standing permit for trail work which expires in August.
We agreed that the language in it helps the Committee to nimbly maintain the trails
without excessive bureaucracy.
9. Membership and Budget Update
We will be submitting out budget to the Select Board in June. We will discuss details at a
later meeting.
