The next step is for the Select Board to finalize the decision so that the committee can bring on a new full member. We have a candidate who will be submitting their application. This position will be posted for two weeks for other interested individuals. MassTrails Proposal Update: Our proposal for a 170 -foot bog bridge in Pinevale was submitted on 2/1/2022.We will await approval. Trail Adopters: Kathy reported that she reached out to current trail adopters to check in and make sure they understood what was expected. We are considering other ways to promote this opportunity. Winter Walk: The committee discussed the Winter Walk scheduled for 2/6 and solidified the details. We are expecting a good turnout. New Supplies: The committee is in the process of spending down our remaining budget funds for the year. We are purchasing some much-needed new equipment that will assist us with our trail projects. Updating Trail Regulations: The committee discussed simplifying signage for the rules and regulations on our trails. We are also planning to create a consistent system for posting at our kiosks throughout town. Collaboration Event: The committee discussed our preferences for the collaborative event with the Town Forest Committee, and Conservation. More details will be forthcoming. Thomas Gardinar is chairing the planning committee for this event. Updates from Conservation: Charles Tirone reminded us that he meets with the DPW the first Tuesday of each month. Our outstanding request is for some fill to cover over a persistent muddy spot on the Cranberry Dam Trail in the Town Forest. That will happen when the weather permits. Other Business: • New Vests: Thanks again to John Parsons for his donation of 9 safety vests to the committee • Secretary: Thank you Ray Vaillancourt for taking on the Secretary position for our committee • Annual Report: Our report is due by 2/25/2022. Kathy Kelly is working on it • Lot #5 Update: Kathy Kelly reported on her meeting with Mark Dockser, Charles Tirone, William Sullivan and Reading Council to discuss the probability of a trail behind Lot #5 on Grove Street. More details will be forthcoming. • Sign Repairs: There are several signs throughout Reading that are in disrepair. We are reaching out to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to see if they are willing to assist US. Next Meeting: Wednesday March 2, 2022, at 7:OOPM Meeting was adjourned at 8:10 Gage 1 2
