Won't have to pay until the work is done. However, location, size, material are all factors into the price. Most will be less than $200.00 to pull out of the ground and straighten. But the more repair the stone needs, the more it will cost. He does agree that it is time to start repairing. He will do mostly everything onsite. Cleans using D2. Able to get references. Historic preservation of old burial grounds. Works on the old tombs to re-stabilize/repair them. Has worked in Salem and Gloucester, currently Saugus and Burlington. Will sit down with the Supervisor of Cemeteries to get a list of graves that want/need repair and by the end of the season they will be done. Once communities are seeing it done, the do appreciate the work. How does the selection process work? He can do anything — old/new whatever the Town wants. Usually it is done with major significance, followed by Town significance, then by sections. Burlington — currently doing a "5-year process" — broke the burial grounds into 5 components (close to 300 stones). All the funds don't necessarily a need to come out of Cemetery funds. Definitely a need to be done within Reading cemeteries. Stated that if we have the pieces — he can put them back together. He will work with the Historical Committee to find the stones that have historical significance. Laurel Hill would be the first, starting in the old cemetery. Approximately a total of 300 in that section, maybe not all need repair, but probably most. Scattering Garden- Elise isn't here, will put it on the agenda for next time. Main Gate at Laurel Hill — other projects are ahead of replacing/repairing the gate. Adiourn The meeting adjourned at 6:59 PM. The next meeting is scheduled for January 5, 2022.
