Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Dave Williams
Topics of Discussion:
The meeting was conducted via Zoom and was called to order at 7:002pm.
1. Minutes from the 2021-10-06 meeting were reviewed and approved.
2. Pinevale Trail update.
Currently very wet.
3. Citizen input. Sandy Mathia. Sandy introduced himself and stated that he is an
abutter to the Great Cedar Swamp and has concerns and interests about a possible
trail into the area via the right of way (ROW) at 443 Haverhill St. Sandy stated that
he had a lot of research, knowledge, and an understanding of the timeline and
history of the area he would be willing to share with Chuck Tirone. Chuck said he
would welcome this information and asked that any files be sent to him electronically
if possible. Further discussion stated that the rocks have been moved from the ROW.
Both neighbors seem to be amenable to the ROW path. It was brought up that the
ROW should be surveyed, as well as possibly surveying the whole area to determine
the uplands and where a trail may go. Chuck displayed a topographical map of the
area and explained it and how a trail might be laid out.
4. The meeting then returned to the Pinevale site. Chuck stated that John McCusker is
in the process of building a trail there. It's been slow due to all the wet weather.

5. Budget
We have $1500 for the upcoming fiscal year. What do we need? Tom Gardner is
asking the DPW to tune up our chain saw. A reminder to make sure we submit all
receipts for our purchases. We did spend all our money for the most recent fiscal
yea r.
6. Update on Town Forest culling plan.
Chuck stated that the forester has inquired about the possibility of a skid road along
the current cross-country trail to help them with their work.
7. Center St., Maple St., Park Ave. dumping update
Chuck stated that he has asked the DPW to install a no dumping sign at the corner of
Maple Street and Center Street at the end of Park Ave. He also asked if the area
could be cleaned up to improve sight lines and that the two, dead trees be taken
down.
8. Trails update. Adoptions. Kathy Kelly stated that she has contacted the trail
adopters and has updated the list. This list has not been uploaded to the Town's
web site.
Should we investigate establishing a "Friends of" group to help with trail
maintenance?
We will attempt to put together a Winter walk.
Attempts to get a public service announcement for recruiting volunteers to help with
the trails on RCN has not met with success.
9. New Business. The question was asked as to the status of a possible trail from
Eastway Road to Bare Meadow. Chuck stated we will need to be parient as we are
stuck 4 feet from Eastway and will need to let the process play out.
The Trails Committee would like to see Chuck officially appointed as the Towns
representative to our, committee. We want Chuck to be what Kim was.
Next Meeting: Wed, Dec. 1, 2021 at 7:00pm
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25pm.
