Topics of Discussion:
I. Cell to Order
Chair Wise called open session order at 7:00p.m. and reviewed the agenda.
A. Public Input
Mr. Wise called for public comment.
Chris Haley, 71 Tennyson Rd.
Mr. Haley read a prepared statement. He stated he met with On Milaschewski and he
believes that he has the children's education, and safety as the utmost priority. Mr. Haley
welcomed Dr. Milaschewski to the town of Reading.
B. Consent Agenda
Mr. Brandt moved second by Mr. Robinson to approve the consent agenda as
listed. The roll call vote carried 6-0. Mr. Brandt, Mrs. Gaffen, Ms. McLaughlin,
Mrs. Namaro, Mr. Robinson, and Mr. Wise.
C. Reverts
Mr. LeLacheur announced that the General Washington Apartments located at 625 Main
Street were being evacuated. The building had a flood in basement which took out power
and was not safe for residents to stay in the building. He stated that Red Cross was on the
way. He stated that housing would be provided for tonight for the residents of 39
apartments within the building. Mr. LeLacheur asked the public to keep an eye on the

Reading Police Facebook page for updates and offer assistance to residents that may be in
need of a place to stay, if the Red Cross is unable to help.
Dr: Milaschewski thanked the community for the warts welcome he has received over the
past few weeks since his start at RPS. Dr. Milaschewski thanked the Extended Year
Program for thew work this summer. He visited Birch Meadow and Coolidge and was
able to see firsthand students learning and having fun in a vibrant and dynamic
environment.
Mrs. Nazzam reported:
- The ByLaw Committee meeting was scheduled for last week in conjunction with the
Rules Committee. The meeting was cancelled due to the lack of a quorum and will
be rescheduled for August.
- On Monday night the Board of library trustees committee met and discussed
meeting room policies, the virtual meeting room, library space planning, the Social
Justice position and trust funds.
- Permanent building committee met on Monday and discussed polices and walked
the library.

D. New Business
Mr. Wise stated that the contract for the Teachers Association had been ratified and
explained what the finalized contract concluded.
Teachers:
Year 1: 2.25%
Year 2: 2.5%
Year 3: 2.5%
Mr. Wise stated the School Committee has agreed to daily elementary planning time,
additional special educator planning time and limiting the daily classes for specialist
teachers. They have agreed to dual licensure competency stipends for those with
licensure in both special education and general and a competency stipend for those
certified in Wilson or Orton Gillingham. They have updated terms for parent and
adoption leave and updated compensation and expectations for Department Heads at the
high school. They will be commencing a Joint Labor Management Committee meeting
on or around April 1, 2022 to research and assess the feasibility of adding M+15 and
M+45 to the salary schedule.
Mr. Wise reminded the Committee that Mr. LaLacheur will be voting on the ratification
as well as required by law.
Mr. Brandt moved, seconded by Mrs. Nazzaro to approve the collective bargainine
aereement between the Readine Teachers Association and the Reading School

Committee from September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2024. The roll call vote carried 7-
0. Mr. Brandt, Mrs. Gaffen, Ms. McLaughlin, Mrs. Nazzaro, Mr. Robinson, Mr.
LeLacheur and Mr. Wise.
E. Adioummen[
Mr. Brandt moved, seconded by Mr. Robinson to move into Executive Session
Nazzaro, Mr. Wise and Mr. Robinson.
The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
