Minutes (amended) from the meeting on June 9 were reviewed and approved. 2. Updates on the picnic table and Kiosk at Mallet Conservation Area The wood to construct a general use picnic table will be delivered by the Department of Public Works to the glen off of Willow Street Thursday, September 9, 2021. Members of The Reading Trail Committee will assemble this picnic table Friday afternoon, September 10 at approximately 2:30 PM. Ben will bring standard wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers. Also, Chuck Tirone and Ben will meet at 8:00 AM Thursday at the garage under the Camp Mattera Lodge to procure any unique hardware necessary to construct the picnic table, and transport these materials over to the Mallet Glenn. Assigned members of the Committee will spray paint where exactly we want the kiosk to go, Tom or Will?) and new marks on the trail head. Friday 2:30 AM - Picnic Table Assembly 3. Our New Liason - Ann Landry While we will all welcome her to RTC, Kathy will act as point person to let her know our plans, budget, etc. 4. Emergency Funding Due to the increased usage of outdoor facilities following the pandemic, RTC is pursuing additional funds to ensure sage and proper maintenance. It is unclear at the time of these notes where we stand in regards to these funds. S. Town Forest 90th Anniversary Celebration The Town Forest is celebrating its 90th anniversary (1) Saturday, September 25, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM starting at Wood End Elementary School. As he is a member of the Town Forest Committee, Tom Gardiner would be a logical person to ask any questions. 6. Trail Adopter Outreach We are still in great need of trail adopters. We have 16 bona fide trails, with only half adopted. That leaves 8 that need maintenance. Perhaps by asking friends and groups we can begin to fill these empty slots. 7. Committee Status A fond farewell to departing Committee members. Your expertise, dedication, and camaraderie will be sorely missed. B. Trails Work Schedule this week (the tenth and the eleventh of september, this Friday and Saturday,2021). We will build the picnic table this Friday at 2:30 at The Maillet Glenn. We will conduct an on-site review trail prospectus on Saturday at 10:30 AM, 443 Haverhill at Stonewall Road. 9. New Projects Trail and bridge prospective project at Linnetta Ln. (Will Finch point person for this project. Next Meeting: Wednesday, October 6, 2021 The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 pm.
