Topics:
Student Handbook: Discussion by council on the need for revisions to the student handbook. Will discuss
the revisions and process at next council meeting.
NEAcr_visi gn of the Graduate: A vision of the RMHS graduate is also part of the School Improvement Plan.
This will also be launched and discussed at the next council meeting.

As a part of his transition plan,Dr.Doherty is in the process of meeting with community members,
neighborhood coffees, and all schools to prioritize what is important in our district. Questions he asked School
Council.
1. What are you most proud of in Reading Public School?
• Facilities
• Challenging aspect of curriculum
• Sports
• Arts
• Choices
• Balance—of high expectations but not the pressure-cooker of other districts
• Strong character among students
• Technology
2. What do you want to preserve most?
• AP classes and electives
• Small class sizes
• Quality of teachers
• Balance between strong arts program and math and sciences
3. Strengths of the school district?
• The opportunities
• Relationships among students,teachers,faculty, staff
• Sports
• Extracurricular activities
• Dedication to being the best
• Community support
• Well-managed financially
4, Where can we improve?
• More inquiry learning time
• More resource support for technology
• More challenging curriculum at all schools
• More electives
• More time on learning—improve RMHS' schedule
5. What ideas do you have on improving the school district?
• Recognize teacher achievement
• More vertical teaming across departmental grade levels
6. What are the key issues the school will face over the next few years?
• Maintaining/keeping up with technology
• Budget
• Standardized test curriculum
