Minutes from the meeting on February 10, 2021 were reviewed and approved. 2. Boy Scout Project - Nate Boran (Troop 728) Nate presented a project to replace a 25 foot bridge in Bare Meadow (near Zack Bourque's bridge). Dave requested that Nate dispose of the old bridge materials as part of the project. Will suggested that Nate use the design from the bridge near Haverhill Street. Kim will send plans to Nate. After the Trails Committee approves the project, Nate will need to meet with the Conservation Commission. 3. Boy Scout - Nicholas Belous (Troop 702) Nicholas asked what projects he should consider for his Eagle Scout project. Suggestions provided were • Pinevale • Kiosks and Trail signage (including QR codes) • Removal of buckthorn • Removal of fragmites in Maillett Conservation area Page 1 1 Adding steps at end of Hunt Street (into new trail area) 4. Projects for Spring • Pinevale o white trail okay, blue trail is in need of site visit o SITE VISIT: Sat. April 3 at 1:OOpm (Pinevale Ave. entrance) o DPW wants to do repairs at Maple Street entrance (sediment near sewer main) o Trail work should wait until after DPW work is complete • Town Forest - Alligator Alley o A few sections need to be replaced o Highly used area - currently passable • Bare Meadow o Replace bridges near cemetery 5. Town Forest Tree Removal Plan Dead pine trees being removed Project will take a few months to complete (goal to complete by Spring 2022) Trails Committee is concerned about machinery damaging other flora 6. T-Shirts Shirts will be distributed in April (at Pinevale Site Visit) 7. Signage for Maillett Kim had the 6" X 6" PVC sign made. The sign with the acknowledgement to Bo and Gina is $48. Can we get a second sign for the kiosk at Lowell Street? - Kim will ask printer. 8. Storm Water Plan at Maillett Chuck Tirone (Conservation Administrator) presented the plan for storm water retention in the Morgan, Maillett, and Sommes land (site of the recent Trails project). The plan is to divert storm water run-off from the neighborhood and capture it in a retention pond. (Bond Street residents deal with a lot of Flooding.) The plan has not yet been brought before the Select Board. The Town Engineer says the plan is doable. There will be a Lunch and Learn on March 30 at 12:00 noon. On April 27 there will be a public meeting held via Zoom at 6:30pm. Lexington and Woburn are part of this project too. It is being funded by a grant from a state entity call the Municipal Vulnerability Program (MVP). Next Meeting: Wed, Apr. 7, 2021 at 7:00pm The meeting was adjourned at 8:15pm. Page 1 2
