Josh calls meeting to order at 7:02 pm
1. Sharing-
2. Welcome new member! Danielle DeVirgilio (she goes by Dani). Josh also commented
that Kerri Perry resigned suddenly from HRAC just prior to MLK event in January.
3. Police Read Out (Chief comments)-
a. Nothing to report.
b. Occupied with vaccine clinics. Dani asked how we are supporting seniors with no
access to computers. Chief confirmed that Elder Services was working towards
setting up a phone bank to call & register seniors for vaccine shots.
c. Amy- maybe we could reach out to Kevin- Director of Elder Services to see if/
how HRAC could ensure seniors are being supported.. Come talk at a future
meeting
4. MLK Jr Event- recap/community feedback
a. Shared feedback received from MLK video compilation.Josh provided these
statistics on who accessed the video
i. 1390 people reached on Facebook; 277 engaged with the post with (89)
likes
ii. 162 views from youTube link with (7) likes
b. Josh commented that this reached many more people that our traditional in
person event, probably due to accessibility on-line at any time-> not just at 30
AM.There were also views from well outside of Reading.

5. Josh- FB page updates.
a. Upcoming Holidays
i. Feb 12th Lunar new Year
ii. Feb 17th - President's day
b. Additional posting/recognition for Black History month
i. Josh suggested linking to posts from CATO. Dani asked if they were a local
reading group. They are.All were in agreement
6. Minutes-
a. Josh makes motion to approve minutes, Kyung 2nds. Approved 2-0 [Chief Clark
and Dani abstained as they weren't there]
7. Open HRAC positions
a. Josh called out (1) more full voting position and (1) advisory position. Also the
need for others to help with taking meeting minutes and managing HRAC's
Facebook page.Anyone interested, please let Josh know.

a. Library Update from Amy L
i. Talk about Race event on 1/6->great turnout
ii. Pulse of Reading: What is Privilege and Why Does it Matter?-2/23

v. Amy confirmed that HRAC can help promote these events
b. Library update from Lisa Racine
i. Several readings highlighting 'who's who' series for black history. Looking
to share for more than just the month of Feb.Will make recordings
available on Library's YouTube channel.
ii. Yes, HRAC can help promote access to these recordings
c. Discussion about how HRAC should support the new Dir of Social Justice
position.Josh/Kyung asked if we should have a recommendation to the Select
Board to publicly support it? Dani asked clarifying questions about the position
and town meeting's role. Amy confirmed the library will be posting information
on their website as part of their budget->Ok to direct people with questions to
those resources. Same as what was provided to select board earlier. All agreed
to talk more in our March meeting.

a. Josh makes motion to adjourn. Kyung 2nds. Motion passes 3-0. [Chief had to
drop due to tech issues before vote to adjourn] Meeting adjourns at 8:06 PM
