� warned the inhebitants of the Town of Reading, qualified to vote in
� elections snd town affairs, to meet in the place and at the time
specified, by posting attested copies of this warrant in the follow-

ASIPNAL TOWN ELECTION
Security Hall March 1}, 1957
Pursuant to the £oregoing warrant and tha Conatable� s return
theron, a Town Election was held at the time and place specified -in
the Warrant. -
In the absence of the Tdoderator, the Tovm Clerk, Boyd H. Stewart,
called the meeting to order at 7:00 A.M, and asked for nominations
for a moderator to act at this meeting.
Arthur L. Harris moved that Kenneth C. Latham be named Moderator to
act at thia meeting. �
On motion o£ Arthur L. Harris it was voted that the nominations be
closed.
On motion oF Arthur L. Harris it was voted that the Tovn Cle rk be
instructed to cast one ballot for Kenneth C. Latham £or Moderator to
act at this meeting. .
The Town Clerk then cast one ballot £or Kenneth C. Latham to act �
temporary Moderator, and declared him elected.
The warrant was partially read by the Town Cler;I when on motion of
Arthur L. Harris, it was voted to dispense veith the ilirther reading of
the warrant except the Constable ' s Return, which was then read by the
Town Clerk.
The ballot boxes were examined by the Constable in charge and each
found to be empty, and allregistered 000.
The polls were declared open by Kenneth C. Latham� with the follow-
ing results.

ARTICLE 2. On motion of Gilbert M, Lothrop it was ooted that the
Town Clerk be authorized and instructed to g epare a suitable reso-
lution ezFs essing commendation and appreciation for the untiring
and valuable service rendered to the Town by Charles P. Howard .as
Moderator and Selectmen, and that the Toxn Clar;c be further authorized
and instructed to sg ead a copy of such resolution upon the Town
Records and to transmit a copy thereof to Mr. Howard.
ARTICLE 2, On motion of Lawrence Drevc it was voted �that the
Tovm Clerk be authorized end inatructed to prepare a suitable reso-
lution expressing co�nendation and appreciation for �the untiri.ng
and valuable service rendered to the Town by Kenneth C.. Latham ea
Seleetmen and Chairman of the Board o£ Selectmen, and that the Town
Clerk be £urther authorized and instructed to spreed a copy oS auch
resolution upon the Town Records and to transmit a copy thereo£ to
Mr. Latham, ,

The Park and Recreation Department Study Co�ittee has to date J
received completed questionaires Prom 18 oP the 23 towns to whom
cve wrote £or information on how they handled their recreational
facilities. We asked them what department ar� coimnittee maintained
their grounds and equipment. We asked Sor the number of Parks and
acreage; £or the number of playgrounds and their acneage; was there
a supervised playgrovnd program and how much was the annual money
appropriation. These and mang other questions vrere answered by the
