Officer' s Return Middlesex as. Reading,
By virtue of this warrant, I, on March 24, 1956 notified
and warned the inhabitants of the Town of Reading, qualified
to vote in elections and town affairs, to meet at the new High
School, 62 Oakland Road, in said Reading, at the time specified,
as the designated place for the four precincts of the Town, by
posting attested copies of this warrant in the following public
places within the Town of Reading:
Precinct 1. Austin' s Lunch Room 17 Harnden Street
Central Fire Station -
Police Headquarters
Precinct 2. Masonic Temple Building
P.T. F. Charles ' Store 610 Main Street
Boston 8: Maine R. R. Depot
Precinct 3. Keene' s Corner Store 36 Mineral Street
Benny' s Store 168 Lowell Street
Fire Station Eng,. #2 Woburn Street
Precinct 4. Municipal Building
Zitzow' s Store 287 Lowell Street
McLaughlin' s Store 1051 Main Street
The date of posting being, more than seven days prior to
April2, 1956, the date set for the meeting in this warrant.
I also caused an attested copy of this Warrant to be
published in the Reading Chronicle in the issue of March 29, 1956
the same being more than one day prior to the date of said
meeting.

Special Meeting
Precinct I April 2, 1956
In accordance with Section 8, Chapter 7 of the Acta of
1943, a special meeting of the members of Precinct I was held
on April 2, 1956, at the New High School 62 Oakland Road, for
the purpose of filling a vacancy, a petition having been filed
by more than ten members and due notice sent to each member.
At said meeting a quorum was present and the following were
elected Chairman and Clerk:
Philip J. Clough, Chairman
Katherine C. Pierce, Clerk
By ballot Daniel McBride was then elected a precinct member
to fill the existing vacancy by a majority vote.

Special Town Meeting
New High School Auditorium April 2, 1956
The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Charles
P. Howard, at 7:45 P.M.
The warrant was partially read by the Town Clerk when on
motion of Kenneth C. Latham it was voted to dispense with
further reading of the warrant except the Constable ' s Return
which was then read by the Town Clerk.
On motion of Kenneth C. Latham it was voted to adjourn,
to meet in the New High School Auditorium on Monday evening,
April 9, 1956, at 7:45 P.M.
Meeting adjourned at 7:55 P.M.

ADJOURNED ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
New High School Auditorium April 2, 1956
The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Charles
P. Howard, at 8:00 P. M.
On motion of Lawrence A. Cate it was voted to take Article
3 from the table.
ARTICLE 3. Lawrence A. Cate moved that there be and hereby
Is established a Special Committee to be known as "Sewer Study
Committee" consisting of one member of the Board of Public Works
chosen by it, one member of the Finance Committee chosen by it,
one Member of the Capital Expenditures Planning Committee chosen
by it, and four citizens of the Town to be appointed by the
Board of Selectmen, one member from each of the precincts of
the Town.
The Committee shall consider a plan and program for the in-
stallation and construction of sewers in the Town and all matters
relating thereto, including the financing thereof. The Committee
shall submit a written report to the Town not later than January
1, 1957, and shall submit a report to any Special Town Meeting
held subsequent to September 1, 1956
ARTICLE 3. Harold D. Kilgore, Jr. moved that the subject
matter of Mr. Cate's motion be indefinitely postponed.
This motion was not voted.
ARTICLE 3. Harold D. Kilgore, Jr. moved that Mr. Cate's
motion be laid on the table until after discussion of Article 38.
This motion was not voted.
ARTICLE 3. On motion of Harold D. Kilgore, Jr. it was
voted that the Special Committee to study Sewer Construction
be amended to include as a member of said committee a member of
the Board of Health.
