Topics of Discussion:
1. Call to Order
Chair Robinson opened the meeting and announced the School Committee was
meeting in a virtual setting, fully remote via Microsoft Teams, practicing social
distancing and in accordance with the Governor's suspension of certain open meeting
laws. The Chair called attendance:

Mr. Robinson called open session order at 7:00 p.m. and reviewed the agenda and
welcomed Dorothy Presser of MASC who will be overseeing the Superintendent
Search Process.
A. Old Business
Superintendent Search Process
Chair Robinson said that the purpose of the meeting was to review the focus
group and survey feedback and to finalize the advertising materials.

Mrs. Presser shared that there were strong themes from the focus group and
survey data to create the qualification and selection criteria.
The School Committee began discussion around the suggested qualifications and
selection criteria. It was decided to add a bullet under Suggested Qualifications
that reads: Minimum often years' experience in education, including classroom
and administrative roles and ideally central of
The Committee would like to see the following bullets added under Suggested
Selection Criteria: Ability to drive consensus, then execute the shared visionfor
elevating a district like Reading". and "Experience navigating MSBA and school
building construction process a plus".
Discussion moved to the brochure.
Mr. Wise read public comment from Geoffrey Coram, Ridge Road:

That bullet(second in red) needs some grammar help, generally."
The Committee shared thoughts on what should be included in the brochure.
Suggested edits and additions were offered. Mrs. Presser said she would take the
suggestions and update the documents. She will send the revised documents to
the Chair.
Adjourn
Mr. Wise moved seconded by Mr. Parks, to adjourn. The roll call vote
carried 6-0 Mr. Parks Mrs. Gaffen,Mrs. Nazzaro, Mr. Wise, Mr. Brandt
and Mr. Robinson.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
