MINUTES OF THE READING RETIREMENT BOARD MEETING
Wednesday January 22, 2020
The Reading Retirement Board held a regular session meeting on January 22, 2020 in The Conference
Room at 2 Haven Street, Unit 307, Reading, Massachusetts.
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 A.M. by Sharon Angstrom in the presence of members Carol
Roberts, David Gentile, Joseph Coughlin, Board Administrator Colleen Loughlin and Asst Board
Administrator Elaine Kelly. Thomas Clough was unable to attend.
MINUTES
• Minutes from the November 26, 2019 regular session were signed by all board members, except
David Gentile who was unable to attend.
• CAROL ROBERTS moved to accept the minutes from the December 18, 2019 regular session.

INFORMATION/QUESTIONS
• Discussion regarding a potential make-up for a member that can't provide payroll records. The
Methuen Retirement System was able to provide documentation of his W-2 amount. In this case,the
member was a seasonal employee,therefore, The Reading Retirement System will not accept
liability.
• A COLA reimbursement of$62,100.08 from the State for the period 7/1/19-12/31/19 was received
on 12/24/19.
• The Board received notice from PERAC that the amount to be appropriated for the Reading
Retirement System for FY21 is $7,886,618.
• A transfer amount of$40,041.09 dated 12/31/19 was received from the Stoneham Retirement Board
for Julie MacDonald. The Stoneham Retirement System will accept liability for 10 years and 11
months of creditable service.
• A transfer amount of $117,180.54 dated 12/31/19 was received from the Winchester Retirement
Board for Christopher Nelson. The Winchester Retirement System will accept liability for 18 years
and 1 month of creditable service.
• John Bilieki, who worked for the Police Dept. and retired on April 3, 1976, passed away on January
9, 2020. He retired on an Accidental Disability. He chose Option A at his retirement.
• Maureen Zaya, who worked for the School Dept. and retired on July 24, 2015, passed away on
January 9, 2020. She chose Option A at her retirement.
• Nomination papers were submitted by Endri Kume.
• Nomination papers were submitted by David Gentile.
