Work on trails first 3 weekends in June (depending on permission and materials).
Should we cut the decking at the cabin? (Only need 2 people for cutting.)
Tools missing! Maybe we should get new locks for the garage?
Need a new chop saw. And we need drills, batteries, and battery charger.
John Kastrinos - new volunteer and possible liaison with mountain bikers?

The meeting was conducted via Zoom and was called to order at 7:OOpm.
1. Minutes from the meetings on June 9, 2020 were reviewed and approved.
2. Work Days
Decking is not available until late October. We have enough stock to build the frames
for 2 sections over the quagmire (one 12 ft section and one 10 ft section).
Fri, Sep 25: meet at cabin at 2:OOpm to cut joists and pre-fab headers
Sat, Sep 26: meet at Willow Street at 9:OOam with materials
3. Maintenance Days
• Pinevale
o Trees down and bridge/boardwalk maintenance needed
o Boy Scouts interested in helping, John will meet them Sun, Sep 20
• Town Forest - Alligator Alley
o Old sections need new joists (there are no center joists)
o There is a new Town Forest member who is Assistant Scout Master.
Tom will ask him if there is any interest from the scouts in replacing
sections.
• Bare Meadow
o Bridge behind cemetery is in bad shape. Possible scout project? Should
we put down anti-skid material as temporary fix?
Page 1 1
• Kurchian
o There are trees down and trash on the trails.
o The trail needs to be widened near the Fairchild Drive trailhead.
o Tom, Kathy, and Ben will work on these issues Fri, Sep 18 at 2:OOpm
4. T-Shirts
Not yet
5. Postings at Trailheads
There was some discussion about dog etiquette vs. dog rules. Chuck said he can't
get signs printed for trailheads.
Issues with bikes and motorized vehicles causing trail erosion (current drought is
making it worse).
Need signs (few words as possible) to put at trailheads.
Will talked to Cons Comm about"no bike" signs. Cons Comm wants to talk about it.
Jean will draft a possible sign with symbols and wording from DPW and Cons Comm
list of rules.
New Business:
• DPW help
o Letter to Select Board about how much help we get from DPW: trees, stone
dust, wood chips, fill for Bare Meadow, kiosk at Hunt St., etc.
o Jean will draft a letter and send to Tom for editing.
• UD Bench
o John wants to ask UD (Understanding Disabilities) to maintain the area
around the bench on the trail at Bare Meadow that leads to the viewing
platform. He has been maintaining it.
• Higgins
o Widest trail is not marked (it is mostly wet or underwater but it gets a lot of
use)
o Should we rebuild the bridge on that trail (the one furthest from Birch
Meadow)?
• Veteran's Way
o Developer needs to re-establish trail easement
o Site visit on Mon, Sep 21 at 1:00pm - Will plans to be there, and maybe Tom
• Open Space Planning (Town - future)
o Trails should have input on this topic
Next Meeting: Tues, Oct 13 at 7:OOpm
