Board - Committee - Commission - Council: `cr- Permanent Building committee 2020 MAR 10 PM 2: Date: 2020-01-06 Time: 6:00 PM Building: Pleasant Street Senior Center Location: Conference Room Address: 49 Pleasant Street Session: Purpose: General Business Version: Attendees: Members - Present: Patrick Tompkins, John Coote, Kirk McCormick, Nancy Twomey, Greg Stapler, Mike Bean Members - Not Present: Brad Congdon Others Present: Kevin Cabuzzi, Assistant Facilities Director, Bob LeLacheur, Town Manager, Jean Dellos, Assistant Town Manager, Erin Schaeffer, Economic Development Director Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Topics of Discussion: Meeting called to order at 6:09 PM. Last meeting minutes reviewed. Minutes accepted w/amendments @ 6:16 PM. New business Kevin Cabuzzi was asked to follow up with Dr. Doherty on getting back-up behind the schemes and cost projections that were a result of the enrollment study. (Why were certain schemes eliminated etc.) Bob LeLacheur mentioned that it was asked by the Bylaw Committee Chair why they were not Involved In the enrollment study. Bob LeLacheur pointed out he was advised by Town Council that the PBC hadn't been asked yet per the by-laws - it is not a building project. PBC feels they should be kept abreast of any development or Input by School Committee and or the community. Bob LeLacheur asked PBC what they felt was the best path forward with their school building report. (This report is currently in draft form.) The PBC responded that the Town Manager should provide comments to the PBC so that the report can be finalized. Bob LeLacheur asked if the PBC felt if any of the information in their report, would not be able to be released for any reason Le. safety, security or otherwise. The general opinion Page 1 1 was most of the Information can already be obtained via public document. Anything else is just their opinions or recommendations for the buildings. Jean Delios mentioned that there may be a possibility of re-establishing the Economic Development Committee. The PBC was asked what they felt made them work well together as a committee and how, If at all, that could be applied to forming an Economic Development Committee. Economic Development Director, Erin Schaeffer, asked each member of the committee what their professional backgrounds are. The Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager and Economic Development Director left at 7:00 PM. The group walked the building @ 7:15 PM Meeting adjourned @ 8:25 PM Page 1 2
