Heather Sullivan Jan Rhein Members - Not Present: Gina McCormack Lisa Connell Others Present: Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Julia Hendrix, Principal Topics of Discussion: At this meeting the Site Council reviewed questions for the School Anti-Bias and Anti- Racism survey for families, students, and staff. Below are the questions that we drafted. A final decision on these questions and survey format will be made at the February 10th meeting. Questions for School Equity Survey Below are the draft questions for the School Equity and Culture Survey. We decided to have the responses as Yes/No or True/False. The first set of questions will be answered by all respondents. The second sets will be in specific surveys. On Monday, February 10'",we will finalize the survey and discuss logistics of sending it out. In the meantime if you have comments or corrections to these questions please send them to Julia. All Respondents: • I feel prepared to deal with controversial issues,such as racism,sexism, homophobia, religion. • I have heard hurtful comments about people's identities(like race, religion,gender,cultures) in the Birch Meadow Community. • The Birch Meadow School is a positive and comfortable environment for me OR I feel comfortable and welcome at Birch Meadow School. Page 1 1 For Students: • My teachers present positive images of people from a variety of races,cultures,and backgrounds. • At Birch Meadow School I feel listened to. For Families: • I feel my child has equal opportunity at Birch Meadow School regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity or religion. • Diversity, equity, and inclusion is important to me. For Staff • Diversity,equity,and inclusion is important to me. • At Birch Meadow School,our environment and teaching present positive images of people from a variety of races, cultures, and backgrounds. • I feel all students have equal opportunity at Birch Meadow School regardless of their race, gender,ethnicity or religion.
