HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-04-08 Town Forest Committee Minutes 105 (Sep.. 25, 1995 Continued) - Irving Dickey reported that he, Benjamin Nichols and Kenneth Lstham,Jr . , a member- ofthe Reading Rotary Club, _ will tour the Town Forest and lay out short and long areae country ski trails. The members of the Rotary Club will install suitable directional signs, and clear thetrails where neeeeeary, under the supervision of Irving Dickey. ' The meeting was adjourned at 8 :40 P.M. March J.18, 1996 7:00 P.M. A formal posted meeting was held at the home of the Chairman at 230 Franklin Street , Reading, Maas . Members present : George B.2erry9 Chairman Irving E . Dlokey,Jr. ,Vice Chairman Irving Dickey reported that Ken Latham, Jr. and the Rotary Club has remarked and expanded the Croce Country Trails in the Town Forest . The minutes ofthe previous meeting were not read as Secretary Benjamin Nichols was not present . The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 P.M. April 8, 1997 A formal posted meeting was held at the home of the Secretary at 25 Avon Street , Reading, Mass . Members presents George B. Perry , dha,rmane Chairman Irving E. gickey, Benjamin E. Nichols , Secretary The minutes of the meetings of September 25 , 1995 and of March 18 , 1996 were read and approved . It was voted to confirm the telephone vote of members in favor of accepting the gift of land off Lynn Village ]Ysy to add to the Town Sorest . 2revioualy the committee members had sent a letter to the Town Manager on January 24, 1997 ' which stated: "As memaers we agree it would be advisable for the Town to-taccept this significant piece of land to add to the Town Forest . The location , and approximate area of this offer is delineated in "RED" on the attached map of "READING TOWN FOREST AND WELLFIELDS." Various reports are coming in that the deer herds are expanding in the Town Forest . The meeting was-adjourned t 8 :00 P.M.
