November 21, 1960
Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
' 7:30 P.M. in Room 14, Municipal Building.
Present were Chairman Florence, Secretary Harrison,
Board Members Ames and Leonard and Superintendent Welch.
Minutes of previous meetings read and approved as
amended.
Read progress report on sewer construction, Charles
Street sidewalk and Charles Street culvert.
The Chairman read statement from the Superintendent
regarding Town Dump for use at Special Town Meeting on November
28, 1960.
The Board held a meeting at 8:00 P.M. with Messrs.
Edmond I. Kennedy and Stephen L. Bishop, representing residents
of the Charles, Pearl and Wakefield Street area in regard to
sewerage. A detailed discussion followed. Mr. Florence informed
the representatives that the petition would be given every con-
sideration; also, they would be informed of any action which
would be taken.
The Chairman read letter from Phister-Judge, Attorneys
for George M. Bryne Co. , Inc. , sewer contractors, and Mr. Welch's
remarks in regard thereto. Mr. Klllem, Town Counsel, will answer
the letter upon receipt of the necessary details from Mr. Welch.
Mr. Florence agreed that the Subcommittee on Gasoline
would meet with the Selectmen on November 28, 1960.
It was agreed that the Board of Public Works will hold
' a meeting on November 28, 1960 after the Special Town Meeting to
discuss a restricted agenda.

The Board adjourned temporarily at 9:15 P.M, to meet
as the Board of Survey.
The Board reconvened at 9:45 P.M.
Mr. Florence read letter from Dana L. Packard, 101
Lowell Street , requesting abatement on his sewer frontage. Mr.
Welch recommended an abatement of $110.00. After considerable
discussion, Mr. Harrison moved that no abatement be made, Mr.
Ames seconded and it was voted. Mr. Leonard requested that his
vote of opposed be so recorded.
Signed the Bill roll and Pay roll for the period
November 20, 1960 through November 26, 1960.
Meeting adjourned at 10:10 P.M.

Heading, in compliance with the provisions of General Laws,
Chapter 80, as amended by Chapter 63 of the Acts of 1933s
hereby certify that the list herewith contains the names of
persons against whom we have made betterment assessments, to—
gether with the location of the land benefited by the Improve-
ment and the nature and amount of such betterment assessment.
And such list is certified to you for the purpose of
committing the same to the Tax Collector, as provided by law.
