HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-05-02 Board of Public Works Minutes 5'7 May 2, 1960 Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. in Rocas 14, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Florence , Secretary Harrison, Board Member Hodson and Superintendent Welch . Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Mr. Welch reported the costs incurred by the Department for the Easter Egg Hunt and Parade; namely, $214.76. Motion was made by Mr. Hodson that this be in- serted in the records as such. Mr. Harrison seconded and it was voted . The Superintendent reported on a conference 9 which he, in company with Mr. Boutiette and Mr. Watson, had with the developers of Reading Acres, their attorney and a representative of the Bonding Company on April 22, 196u at Putnam Road. No decisions were made nor agree- ments reached. A general discussion took place. Mr. Welch explained that there is in the High- way Account an allotment of 44,OOu for so-called "recover" work. Mr. Hodson moved to follow the Superintendent' s recommendation, Mr. Harrison seconded the motion and it was voted to do the following work: High Street - Middlesex to Vine Salem Street - Main to Harnden 5S Public Hearing was held at 8;00 P.M. regarding an application of the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company to relocate a pole 39 feet Northerly from Woburn Street. The abutting owner did not appear at the Hearing. It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the new pole location. The Chairman brought up the subject of Henzie Street. Mr. Welch stated that it was on the Agenda for this year - one coat of oil. Mr. Florence read a letter which ne received from Mr. Tyminski on Garrett Road regarding drainage in that location. Mr. Welch is to notify Mr. Tyminski that Garrett Road is on the Agenda for this year. Worg will start probably in July. General discussion was held regarding the in- cinerator on the property of Sanborn Bros. No action was taken. The meeting adjourned at 8;55 P.M. Respectfully submitted, cretary .
