Chairman Zanni, Secretary Harrison, Board Members Donahue, Florence and Leonard and Superintendent Welch were present. Copies of summary of House Bill 2323 were distributed to Board for consideration. Received letter from Capital Expenditures Committee re- questing information for their 1960 report. Considered suggested Capital Expenditures Program submitted by Superintendent. Considered and discussed in detail all suggested Stems indi- vidually. It was moved, seconded and voted as follows: - ITEM 1. Development of Birch Meadow. Approved as submitted . ITEM 2. Development of Parks. Approved as submitted. ITEM 3. Sewer Construction and Extensions. Approved $100,000 for 1960 and $125,000 for . the years 1961 to 1965 inclusive. ITEM 4. Sewer House Connections. Approved $35,000 for 1960, $45,000 for 1961 and $50,000 for 1962 to 1965 Inclusive. ITEM 5. Storm Drains . Approved $35,000 for 1960 and $40,000 for ' 1961 to 1965 inclusive. ITEM 6. Street Betterments. Approved as submitted . fi ITEM 7. Chapter 90 Construction. Approved as submitted . ITEM 8 . Sidewalk Construction. Approved as submitted. ITEM 9. Water Financial Schedule . Approved as submitted. Considered note from Superintendent suggesting changes In operation of Dump. It was moved , seconded and voted to approve the follow- ing regulations: 1. Businesses dumping objectionable materials, such as plastics, rubber, etc. , shall do so only at speci- fied times set by Department. 2. Dumping hours shall be 7:00 A.M . to 9:00 P.M. every day and entrances shall be horsed off at other hours. 3. Advertisements shall be inserted in the Reading Chronicle, Wakefield Item and Lawrence Eagle-Tribune specifying the regulations. 4. Regulations shall become effective February 1,1960. Received request from Boy Scouts for use of Reading Com- mon on Saturday, February 13, 1960, for observance of Boy Scout Week. It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the re- quest. Received petition from several abuttors on Pine Ridge Circle requesting that Pine Ridge Circle be accepted as a public way. 7 It was moved, seconded and voted to place the petition on file for processing in the usual manner. Signed commitment statement for 1959 Chapter 90 Mainte- nance expenditures for submission to the State Department of Public Works for reimbursement. Received letter from Carlos Borge, 25 Ridge Road, rela- tive to damage to Hydrant on High Street caused by his automobile and requesting an abatement of the bill.
