The meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7 :00 P.M.
Chairman Zanni, Secretary Harrison, Board Member Florence and
Superintendent Welch were present.
Conferred with Chairman Murphy and Board Members MacLeod and
Sias of the Personnel Board. The proposed wage schedule recently
submitted by the Board of Public Works was discussed in detail.
The Personnel Board made two requests. First, that the Depart-
ment furnish a written description of the proposed classification
"Meter Supervisor", and second, that the proposed elimination of the
classification "Semi Skilled Labor" be held in abeyance.
No official approval or disapproval of the schedule was arrived
at.
' Records of the previous meeting were read and approved.
It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the following
petitions for pole locations:
Lowell Street - Relocate Pole 53/34 eight feet westerly;
Haverhill Street - Relocate Pole 40/81 nine feet northerly.
Received three petitions from several abutters requesting the
acceptance as public ways of the following three streets:
1. Mark Avenue - From Grove Street to Laurel Lane;
2. Laurel Lane - In its entirety;
3 . Tanglewood Lane - In its entirety.
It was moved, seconded and voted to place the petitions on file
pending processing in the usual manner.
' Temporarily adjourned at 8:00 P .M . to meet as Board of Survey.
Reconvened at 8:45 P.M.
Received a letter from the developers of Putnam Road, . Reading
Terrace, Shady Hill Lane and Scout Hill Lane stating that work on

these roads is completed and asking for a release of posted bonds .
It was moved, seconded and voted to write the developers that
sufficient work has not been done to warrant a release of posted
bonds in whole or in part.
Received a letter from Dan Marino requesting an extension of
the completion date on his 1959 Sewer Contract from November 16, 1959
to December 15, 1959.
It was moved, seconded and voted not to grant the requested
extension.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M .
