The meeting of the Board of Puolic Works opened at 7:30 P .M .
Chairman Zanni, Secretary Harrison, Board Members Donahue,,
Florence, Leonard and Superintendent Welch were present.
Records of the previous meeting were read and approved as
amended.
The amended records of the meeting of September 24, 1959 were
read and approved .
Read two reports by the Superintendent and considered them
jointly. One was report on Addenda to the Sub Committee report.
The other was a proposed listing of personnel to be considered
as regular employees.
It was moved, seconded an,l voted to refer both reports back
to the Superintendent for further study.
Held Hearing at 8:00 P .Y . on proposed sewer extension in Mt.
Vernon St. from Chute St, to 37 Mt. Vernon St.
The following persons were present:
Mr. Clifford Boudreau - In favor
It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the extension of
the sewer in Mt. Vernon St.
Considered list of bids for extension to Department Garage .
Discussed details.
It was moved, seconded and voted to award the contract for the
construction of the Garage Extension including alternates No. 1,
2 and 3 to the low bidder, the Natick Suburban Construction Company
for the bid price of $28,447.00.

Read report from Superintendent giving the progress to date
of all 1959 projects under contract.
Read report from the Superintendent suggesting an abatement
of 015.00 on the July 1959 water bill of Albert Chisholm„ 176
Summer Avenue.
It was moved, seconded and voted to grant the above described
abatement.
Received letter from the Selectmen relative to the sale of
Lots 72 to 78 inclusive on Norman Road and Lot 96 on Track Road .
Read report from the Superintendent relative to the same
matter.
It was moved, seconded and voted to request the Selectmen not
to sell Lots 76, 77 and 78 as the Town has a drain easement through
them and that this Board does not have a foreseeable use for lots
72, 73, 74, 75 and 96.
Held Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on proposed change in name of South
Street from West Street south of Route 96 to a dead end at Route 93.
Proposed name is South End Way.
The following persons were present:

It was agreed the people present would meet with their neighbors

` to see if a suitable name could be chosen with special attention
being given to the proposed name of Olde South Street.
Held Hearing at 9:00 P .M . on four proposed gas main locations
as follows:
Manning Street - From Salem St. southerly, a
distance of 135 feet more or less;
Charles Street - From near Main St. to opposite
No. 34, a distance of 450 feet
more or less;
y Harvest Road - From Torre St. southeasterly, a
distance of 325 feet more or less;
Track Road - From Harvest Road southerly and
easterly, a distance of 700 feet
more or less.
In each case the intent is to connect dead end mains with
circulating mains.
The following persons were present:
Mr. Wilson Wood , representing Mystic Valley Gas Co.
It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the above described
gas main locations.
Plans for each of the above described gas main locations were
signed.
Read letter from Weston and Sampson and note from Superintendent
relative to bids received on September 24, 1959 for submersible
pump for Revay Well No. 2.
It was moved , seconded and voted to lay the matter on the table
for one week.

It was moved, seconded and voted to hold the next meeting
of the Board on Tuesday Evening, October 13, 1959 at 7:30 P.M.
Discussed problem of trash andrubbishstrewn on roads in
the vicinity of the Town Dump.
It was moved, seconded and voted to request the Selectmen
to insert in the local paper a news item asking people to be
more careful in carrying rubbish to the Dump.
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 P .M .

The undersigned, Board of Public Works of the Town of
Heading, in compliance with the provisions of General Laws,
Chapter 80, as amended by Chapter 63 of the Acts of 1933, here-
by certify that the list herewith contains the name of persons
against whom we have made betterment assessments, together with
the location of the land benefited by the Improvement and the
nature and amount of such betterment assessment.
And such list is certified to you for the purpose of com-
mitting the same to the Tax Collector, as provided by law.
