September 28, 1959
The meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M.
Chairman Zanni, Secretary Harrison, Board Members Donahue,
Florence and Leonard and Superintendent Welch were present.
Records of the previous meeting were read but not signed
pending correction of final page.
Received petition from seven abuttors on Marla Lane requesting
that Marla Lane be accepted as a public way.
It was moved, seconded and voted to place the petition on
i file for presentation to Town Meeting in March 1960.
I Received a request from the Methodist Church to close off
111 Salem Street between Lowell Street and Main Street on Saturday,
October 17, 1959 between 8:30 A.M . and 5.00 P.M . for the purpose
of holding a paper drive .
It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the above noted
request.
Received a letter from William Bears, Building Contractor,
requesting permission to relocate a short section of the Aber3ona
River fust northeast of Willow Street.
It was moved, seconded and voted to take the request under
advisement pending receipt of information about the river relocation
from the State Department of Public Works Waterways Division.
Received a petition from approximately 55 people living on
Track Road , Line Road and Norman Road requesting something be
done about the Quannapowitt Drain Ditch in this vicinity.
It was moved, seconded and voted to take the matter under
advisement pendil preparation of estimates by Department for

Signed three copies of contracts with the Barrett Division
of Allied Chemical Corporation for furnishing and laying
bituminous concrete.
Considered list of general bidders for Garage Extension.
It was moved, seconded and voted to write each of the
three low bidders requesting information about their experience,
financial ability, equipment owned and personnel available.
It was moved, seconded and voted to lay on the table the
report of the Superintendent relative to the Addenda of the Sub
Committee on Personnel and to place it on the Agenda of
October 5, 19$9 as the first order of business.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 P.M .
