Mr. waLts promisee to nave plans, contract and spocificaLlons for G..,-aK. Extension filed with Board prior to February 6, 1909. Received letter from L. Maiurl and Sons requesting an extension on the completion date of their road construction contract. It was moved, seconded and voted to extend the completion date to June 1, 1959. Considered note from SuperinLenaent relative to vacations for laboring force. Superintendent suggested that all employees, except a few for emergencies, take their vacations at the same time. It was moved, seconded and voted to have all employees in laboring force take their vacations from July 11 to July 26 except in cases where personal problems make it quite inconvenient for them. Superintendent furnished all members with new, corrected copies of 1959 Budget. Considered note from Superintendent suggesting that charges be made for certain types of services given by Department on week ends and holidays. It was moved, seconded and voted to instruct- Superintendent to prepare a list of week end work done and suggested fees for same. 22 Hearing at 8:1b P. M. on the proposed acceptance as a public way of a portion of Winthrop Ave'. from the end of the present public way to the dead end near Woodland Rd. Hearing at 9:00 P. M. on the proposed acceptance of as a public way of a portion of North St. from Bear Hill Rd, to Fourth St. Following persons present : Eugene Hand In favor Marcia Hand Richard Budka Joseph Power " •• It was moved, seconded and voted to recommend to zhe Town the acceptance as a public way of a portion of North St. as above described. Hearing at 9:30 P. Received from Boy Scouts a request to use the Reading Common on Saturday, February 7, 1909 for observance of Boy Scout Anniversary week. It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the request. Considered note from Superintendent and suggested copy of Board Report in Annual Report. Chairman Donahue, Mr. Florence and Mr. Harrison took copies to read and edit. Considered amendment to Loop water Main Contract as proposed by Weston A� Sampson and Superintendent. Amendment covers available funds and proposed request for funds. �a. 24 It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the amendment after adding thereto at the end of the fourth paragraph the words, "and in either case to perform the work at the contract unit bid prices.'- It rices."It was moved, seconded and voted to award the contract to the low bidder Cannavino and Shea and to sign a contract including the immediately above quoted amendment. Discussed petition of certain employees that they be placed under Civil Service. Question is to appear on ballot on Monday, March z, 1909.
