MEETING OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OPENED AT
7:30 P.M. IN ROOM 16, MUNICIPAL BUILDING.
PRESENT WERE CHAIRMAN HODGKINS, SECRETARY
FLORENCE, BOARD MEMBERS COCHRANE, WATT AND WHITE.
THE SUBJECT FOR DISCUSSION WAS THE APPOINTMENT
OF A NEW SUPERINTENDENT.
MR. WHITE STATED THAT IN VIEW OF THE RECENT
STATEMENTS MADE BY THE CURRENT ACTING SUPERINTENDENT ERNEST
WATSON IN REGARD TO HIS RETIREMENT, HE WOULD MOVE THAT THE
CURRENT TOWN ENGINEER BE APPOINTED ACTING SUPERINTENDENT OF
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND CLERK OF THE BOARD UNTIL FURTHER
ACTION IS TAKEN; MR. COCHRANE SECONDED.
MR. WATT STATED IT WAS THE INTENT OF THE BOARD
TO APPOINT MR. LOUANIS SUPERINTENDENT WITHIN A FEW MONTHS
IF HE FULFILLS THE REQUIREMENTS.
IT WAS STATED FURTHER THAT AS ACTING SUPERIN-
PENDENT HE IN ESSENCE WILL HAVE ALL THE AUTHORITY OF THE
SUPERINTENDENT.
IT WAS VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO APPOINT E. ROGER
LOUANIS ACTING SUPERINTENDENT AS OF JULY 1.
MR. WATT MOVED, MR. WHITE SECONDED AND IT WAS
VOTED UNANIMOUSLY THAT CONCURRENT WITH THE PROMOTION, MR.
LOUANIS ' SALARY WOULD BE INCREASED FROM $213. 00 TO $250. 00
WEEKLY.
THE BOARD SIGNED THE FOLLOWING:
PAYROLL FOR THE PERIOD JUNE 22 THROUGH JUNE 28, 1988
PUNPING STATION CONTRACT 88-8 - FRANCIS G.FALZARANO
MEETING ADJOURNED AT 8:10 P.M.
