PRESENT WERE CHAIRMAN HODGKINS, BOARD MEMBERS COCHRANE, FLORENCE AND KENNEY AND ACTING SUPERINTENDENT E. R. LoUANIS. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS READ AND APPROVED. READ LETTER FROM J. D 'AMIco, INC. OUTLINING PRO- GRESS SCHEDULE FOR THE INTERCEPTER SEWER. CHAIRMAN HODGKINS READ AND SIGNED LETTER TO J. D 'AMIco, INC. POINT- ING OUT THAT THE CONTRACT REQUIRES COMMENCEMENT OF THE WORK FIVE CALENDAR DAYS AFTER THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO ' THEM AND THAT OVER A MONTH HAS ELAPSED AND NO PROGRESS HAS BEEN REPORTED. READ LETTER FROM EDWARD J. COPPINGER, 25 AVALON ROAD OUTLINING DRAINAGE PROBLEMS ON HIS PROPERTY AND RE- QUESTING SEWERAGE BEFORE 1969. IT WAS AGREED THAT A LET- TER WOULD BE SENT BY THE ACTING SUPERINTENDENT ADVISING MR. COPPINGER THAT IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO INCLUDE AVALON ROAD IN THE 1965 PROGRAM AS IT IS COMPLETE; ALSO DUE TO THE LACK OF MANPOWER. THE BOARD ADJOURNED TEMPORARILY AT 7:45 P.M. To MEET AS THE BOARD OF SURVEY. THE BOARD RECONVENED AT 5:40 P.M. THE BOARD TOOK UP THE ITEM OF APPROVAL OF PE- ' TITION OF NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE & TELEGRAPH COMPANY TO INSTALL UNDERGROUND CONDUITS ON FRANKLIN STREET, NORTH- WESTERLY SIDE, SOUTHEASTERLY FROM POLE 27/10 TO INTER- SECTION OF COVEY HILL ROAD, PLUS APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET OF UNDERGROUND CONDUIT. HDARING WAS HELD FEBRUARY 19. MR. FLORENCE MOVED, X.R. COCHRANE SECONDED AAD IT WAS VOTED TO APPROVE THE PETITION. THE BOARD SIGNED THE PLANS. THE BOARD DISCUSSED THE 1968 SEWER CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM. N.R. KENNEY MOVED THAT THE BOARD ADD TO THE PRO- GRAM 300 FEET - #46 THROUGH #55 PINEVALE AVENUE; ALSO GLEASON ROAD - GREENWOOD ROAD TO MACINTOSH ROAD CONTINGENT UPON HEARING AND TIME ELEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION. IT WAS MOVED, SECONDED AND VOTED TO APPROVE THE 1968 SEWER CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM AS AMENDED. THE BOARD TOOK UP THE ITEM OF THE WATER MAIN EXTENSION IN SUNNYSIDE ROAD. MR. FLORENCE MOVED, MR. KENNEY SECONDED AND IT WAS VOTED TO APPROVE THE EXTENSION. PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD AT 9:00 P.M. REGARDING THE PROPOSAL OF THE MYSTIC VALLEY GAS COMPANY TO INSTALL A CAS MAIN IN An STREET - LIBBY AVENUE EASTERLY, A DIS- TANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET. LEWIS STOCKWELL REPRESENTED THE MYSTIC VALLEY GAS COMPANY. NO ABUTTORS ATTENDED THE HEARING. MR. COCH- BANE MOVED, PIR. FLORENCE SECONDED AND IT WAS VOTED TO APPROVE THE PETITION. THE .BOARD SIGNED THE PLAN. PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD AT 9:10 P.M. REGARDING THE PROPOSAL OF THE MYSTIC VALLEY GAS COMPANY TO INSTALL A GAS MAIN IN HENZIE STREET - EASTERLY FROM PRESENT END, APPROXIMATELY 360 FEET. LEWIS STOCKWELL REPRESENTED THE MYSTIC VALLEY GAS COMPANY. MRS. ALICE M. HERTACH, 28 HENZIE STREET, AT- TENDED THE HEARING AND VOTED IN OPPOSITION TO THE INSTALLA- TION. A SHORT DISCUSSION FOLLOWED. MR. COCHRANE MOVED, MR. FLORENCE SECONDED AND IT WAS VOTED TO APPROVE THE PE- TITION. THE BOARD SIGNED THE PLAN. THE BOARD SIGNED THE FOLLOWING: BILLROLL DATED FEBRUARY 23 PAYROLL FOR THE PERIOD FEBRUARY 17 THROUGH FEBRUARY 23 REPORTS OF LAYING OUT AND PLANS FOR STREET ACCEPTANCES - SUNNYSIDE ROAD, LAKEVIEW ROAD, HARVEST ROAD AND TRACK ROAD IT WAS MOVED, SECONDED AND VOTED TO CONTINUE THE MEETING IN EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS PROPOSED 1968 SALARIES. Town of Reading REPORT OF THE .BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ON THE LAYING OUT OF LAKEVIEW ROAD The Board of Public Works of the Town of Reading having determined and adjudged that common convenience and necessity re- quire the laying out of a town way under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments, substantially in the location hereinafter described, having complied with all require- ments of law relating to notice to the owners of land thereof and of a hearing thereon, and having met at the time and place appointed for such hearing and then and there heard all persons present who desired to be heard, have laid out as a town way for the use of the town running Northeasterly from Salem (Public ) Street, substantially as and in the location of a private way known as Lakeview Road. The boundaries and measurements of said way as so laid out are as follows : Beginning at a point on the Northerly side line of Salem Street, said point being S.490-21 ' -30"E. , a distance of 110.79 feet from a stone bound as shown on a plan herein- after mentioned; Thence by a curved line to the left, having a radius of 20.00 feet, a distance of 31 .42 feet , to a point; L Thence N.400-381 -30"E. , a distance of 777.23 feet, to a point; Thence S.860-291 -03"E. , a distance of 50. 17 feet, to a point; Thence S.400-38' -30"W. , a distance of 807.51 feet, to a point; Thence by a curved line to the left, having a radius of 20.00 feet, a distance of 31 .42 feet, to a point; Thence N.490-21 ' -30"W. , a distance of 80.00 feet, to the point of beginning of this description. The above described lines being more fully described on a plan entitled "Street Acceptance Plan - Lakeview Road", dated January 1968, Philip Welch, Superintendent, said plan being a part of this description. We determine that no damages will be sustained by any person or persons in their property by reason of the taking to be made for this improvement. All acts in connection with said lay- ing out are done under the provision of law authorizing the assess- ment of betterments, and betterments are to be assessed therefor. This laying out so made by us we hereby report to the Town for acceptance and recommend that said way shall thereafter be known as a public town way and named Lakeview Road and that the sum of Thirteen Thousand Eight Hundred ($13,800.00) Dollars be raised and appropriated for construction of said way. - —�rg: (r .,.� Chairman ��.\\ Secretary March Town Meeting 1968 CCOMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS Middlesex, ss. The boundaries and measurements of said way as so laid out are as follows : Beginning at a point, said point being at the inter- section of the Northeasterly side line of Salem Street with the Northerly side line of Bay State Road as shown on a plan hereinafter mentioned; Thence N.490-211 -30"W. , a distance of 63.97 feet, to a point; Thence by a curved line to the left, having a radius of 20.00 feet, a distance of 31 .42 feet, to a point; Thence N.400-38 ' -30"E. , a distance of 699.94 feet to a point; Thence S.20-251 -49"W. , a distance of 64.67 feet, to a point; Thence S.400-381 -30"W. , a distance of 637.65 feet, to a point; Thence by a curved line to the left, having a radius of 20.00 feet, a distance of 41 .22 feet, to a point; Thence N.770-271 -00"W. , a distance of 29.38 feet, to the point of beginning of this description. The above described lines being more fully described on a plan entitled "Street Acceptance Plan - Sunnyside Road", dated January 1968, Philip Welch, Superintendent, said plan being a part of this description.
