HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-02-19 Board of Public Works Minutes FEBRUARY 18, 1868 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OPENED AT 7:40 P.M. IN ROOM 16, MUNICIPAL BUILDING. PRESENT WERE CHAIRMAN HODGKINS, BOARD MEMBER FLORENCE AND ACTING SUPERINTENDENT E. R. LOUANIS. PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD AT 7:45 P.M. REGARDING THE PROPOSED EXTENSION OF THE WATER MAIN IN SUNNYSIDE ROAD UNDER THE BETTERMENT ACT. FOUR PERSONS ATTENDED THE HEARING. TECHNICAL QUESTIONS WERE PROPOSED BY THE ABUTTORS AND ANSWERED BY THE BOARD AND ACTING SUPERINTENDENT. WHEN POLLED, THE ABUTTORS VOTED UNANIMOUSLY IN FAVOR. THE BOARD ADJOURNED TEMPORARILY AT 8:00 P.M. TO MEET AS THE BOARD OF SURVEY. THE BOARD RECONVENED AT 8:55 P.M. PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD REGARDING THE PETITION OF THE NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE & TELEGRAPH COMPANY TO INSTALL UNDERGROUND CONDUITS AS FOLLOWS: FRANKLIN STREET - NORTHWESTERLY SIDE, SOUTHEASTERLY FROM POLE 27/10 TO INTERSECTION OF COVEY HILL ROAD, PLUS APPROXIMATELY FIFTY (50) FEET OF UNDERGROUND CON- DUIT. MR. GEORGE COOLEY, REPRESENTING THE NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE TELEGRAPH COMPANY ATTENDED THE HEARING. PIR. BERNARD CRUPI, 112 WINTHROP AVENUE, AP- PEARED BEFORE THE BOARD AND REQUESTED THE EXTENSION OF THE SANITARY SEWER TO SERVICE THE FIVE HOMES AT THE END OF WINTHROP AVENUE. Na. CRUPI WAS ADVISED OF THE SEWER PROGRAM AS DETERMINED BY THE BOARD. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 9:20 P.M. RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, SECRETARY 1
