PRESENT WERE CHAIRMAN HODGKINS, SECRETARY WRIGHT, BOARD MEMBERS COCHRANE, FLORENCE AND KENNEY AND ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT WATSON. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING READ AND APPROVED. THE BOARD MEMBERS DISCUSSED PLOWING PROBLEMS WITH THE ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT. THE BOARD MET WITH THE SE- LECTMEN IN THE LATTER tS OFFICE AND MADE PUBLIC STATEMENT IN REPLY TO COMPLAINTS WHICH HAVE BEEN RECEIVED BY THE TWO BOARDS WITH REFERENCE TO THE PLOWING OF STREETS AND SIDE- WALKS. THE BOARD JOURNEYED TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER, 52 SANBORN STREET WHERE PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD IN THE AUDI- TORIUM AT 8:07 P.M. ON THE LAYING OUT AS PUBLIC WAYS UNDER THE BETTERMENT ACT OF THE FOLLOWING : LAKEVIEW (PRIVATE) ROAD WHICH RUNS NORTHEASTERLY FROM SALEM STREET, A DISTANCE OF 800 FEET MORE OR LESS TO A DEAD END SUNNYSIDE (PRIVATE) ROAD WHICH RUNS NORTHEASTERLY FROM SALEM STREET, A DISTANCE OF 695 FEET MORE OR LESS TO A DEAD END HARVEST (PRIVATE) ROAD WHICH RUNS SOUTHEASTERLY FROM TORRE STREET TO TRACK ROAD, A DISTANCE OF 190 FEET MORE OR LESS TRACK (PRIVATE) ROAD THE WESTERLY PORTION WHICH RUNS SOUTHERLY FROM HARVEST ROAD TO LINE ROAD AT THE READING-WAKEFIELD TOWN LINE, A DISTANCE OF 700 FEET MORE OR LESS SHACKFORD (PRIVATE) ROAD WHICH RUNS FROM THE AC- CEPTED PORTION OF SHACKFORD ROAD SOUTHERLY TO CROSS STREET, A DISTANCE OF 346 FEET MORE OR LESS. FIFTY-FOUR PERSONS ATTENDED THE HEARING. CHAIRMAN HODGKINS EXPLAINED THE USE OF THE HAND- OUT SHEETS WHICH WERE PROVIDED TO ALL AS THEY ENTERED THE AUDITORIUM. A GENERAL DISCUSSION FOLLOWED AND ALL QUES- TIONS DIRECTED TO THE ROARD MEMBERS FROM THE FLOOR WERE ANSWERED. MR. HODGKINS ANNOUNCED THAT ENGINEERING WORKING PLANS WERE DISPLAYED ON TABLES IN THE FRONT OF THE AUDI- TORIUM AND THAT BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ENGINEERING PER- SONNEL WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO ANSWER SPECIFIC TECHNICAL QUESTIONS. THE ABUTTORS VOTED AS FOLLOWS: HON- PRESENT IN FAVOR OPPOSED COMMITTAL SHACKFORD ROAD Jr 1 3 1 LAKEVIEW ROAD 15 14 0 1 SUNNYSIDE ROAD 6 6 0 0 TRACK ROAD AND 9 9 0 0 HARVEST ROAD THE PEOPLE PRESENT AT THE STREET ACCEPTANCE HEAR- ING EXPRESSED THEIR DESIRE FOR SEWER AS FOLLOWS: LAKEVIEW ROAD ZZ SUNNYSIDE ROAD 3 TRACK ROAD AND 9 HARVEST ROAD AFTER THE HEARING WAS CONCLUDED BY THE CHAIRMAN AT 9:00 P.M. , ROBERT M. GRAHAM, 72 CROSS STREET, PROTESTED - THE HEARING ON SHACKFORD ROAD, CLAIMING THAT HE HAD NOT BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK. THE BOARD DENIED THIS WAS TRUE AND EXPLAINED THE OPERATION OF THE MEETING. THE BOARD RECONVENED IN ROOM 16, MUNICIPAL BUILD- ING. READ ROUTINE LETTERS FROM FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ADMINISTRATION ON THE INTERCEPTOR SEWER. THEY WERE ACCEPTED AS A POINT OF INFORMATION. THE BOARD DISCUSSED BRIEFLY THE BUDGET FOR 1968. THE BOARD SIGNED PAYROLL FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 13 THROUGH JANUARY 19 AND BILLROLL DATED JANUARY 19. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 9:45 P.M. RESPECTFULLY SUBNITTED, SECRETARY
