Meeting of the Board of Public Works convened in Room 127,
Reading Memorial High School at 7:08 P. M.
Present were Chairman Cowell, Secretary Wood, Board Members
DeHart and Barker, Superintendent Louanis and Finance Committee
Member Cyrus Linscott .
It was moved , seconded and voted 4:0 to approve the minutes of
the meeting of May 5th as corrected .
Following discussion it was moved, seconded and voted 4:0 to
award the remaining portion of the equipment rental bid , subject
to the procurement of satisfactory liability insurance, as follows:
Item #1 - Combined backhoe and front end loader w/operator to D & R
General Contracting , Inc . , Don Hancock and Ernest G . Babcock
on a rotational basis for $22.00/hr.
Item #2 - Six wheel dump truck w/operator to D & R General Contract-
ing, Inc. for $14.00/hr.
Item #5 - Backhoe ( 1 C.Y. Capacity) w/operator to John P. DiTonno,
' Inc. and Domenick Zanni, Inc . on a rotational basis for
$55.00/hr.
Item #6 - Backhoe (2 C.Y. Capacity) w/operator to C. J. Marbardy
Washed Sand & Gravel, Inc. for $72.00/hr.
Item 47 - Gradall (15' radius) w/operatorto J. Tropeano and Sons, Inc
for $42.00/hr.
Item #8 - Grader (20,000 pounds) w/operator to C . J. Marbardy Washed
Sand and Qrsvel, Inc. for $55.00/hr.
Item #10- Tractor dozer (180 HP ) w/operator to C. J. Marbardy Washed
Sand and Gravel, Inc . and Domenick Zanni Sons, Inc. on a
rotating basis for $55 .00/hr.
Following discussion it was moved, seconded and voted 4:0 to
approve the distribution of the Town Counsel charges in the amount of
$913.50 for 20.3 hours.
The Board moved, seconded and voted 4:0 to table discussion on
the sand , gravel and stone bids until 9:00 P.M. on May 19, 1980 and
' instructed the Superintendent to invite both bidders to the scheduled
Board meeting.
The Board moved , seconded and voted 4:0 to table discussion on
the Sanitary Sewer Main Construction bid - Contract 80-2 .
The Board moved, seconded and voted 4:0 to table discussion on
the brick and cement bids. ,
The Board accepted as a point of information a letter from Mc-
Neil and Associates, Inc . dated April 29, 1980.
The Board accepted as a point of information a letter from
the Environmental Protection Agency dated May 6, 1980 .
The Board accepted as a point of information the water supply
analysis dated April 14, 1980 and the fluoride results dated April
30, 1980.
The Board signed the payroll for the period ending May 9, 1980
r and the bill roll dated May 16 , 1980.
It was moved , seconded and voted 4:0 to adjourn at 7: 54 P .M.

estimate and/or the budgeted amount on all future bid reviews. )
The Board moved, seconded and voted 4:0 to table discussion on
the brick and cement bids. '

and Associates, Inc . dated April 29, 1980 .
The Board accepted as a point of information a letter from the
