M., notice of such meeting having been forwarded to each of such members giving the time and the place and the purpose of said meeting. There were present Kenneth C. Latham, Chairman, Alexander Glover, Joseph Knight, Harold B. Currell and Dr. Edward M. Halligan, being a majority of the Law Committee. The Chairman called the meeting to order. Mr. Harold B. Currell was duly elected Secretary for the ensuing year. The nomination of Samuel H. Davis to act as Town Counsel was made and seconded and the Committee voted to appoint him as Town Counsel for . the ensuing year. The Town Counsel made a report at the meeting relative to the case of Mrs. Ruth E. Anderson, 31 Willow Street, Reading, who made a claim against the Town as the result of an alleged accident which occurred in December, 1946, in which it is claimed that she fell into a post hole . in the tree lawn in front of her premises sustaining injuries. Mr. Davis further reported that a permit was issued to the Telephone Company to remove a pole from this location and that the liability for this accident may rest with this Company. Mr. Davis also reported that a claim has been made against the Town by the Reading Masonic Temple Corporation by reason of water flow- -2- Minutes of the Meeting Held April 7, 1947 of the Law Committee ing from the Municipal Parking Place into the property owned by the corporation located on Main Street. It was also reported to the Committee by Mr. Davis that two zoning by-law cases were pending in the Middlesex Superior Court and would be disposed of by trial in the near future. No further business being brought before the meeting, it was on motion duly made and seconded VOTED: To adjourn. Adjourned. Attest: Secretary
