A meeting of the Board of Public Works convened in Room 16,
Municipal Building at 7: 30 P.M. Present were Chairman Cowell, Secretary
Wood, Board Members DeHart, Fallon and Barker, Superintendent E. Roger
Louanis and Assistant Superintendents McIntire and Bergeron.
The Board reviewed the following budget sheets:
Sheet 12 - PARKS & PLAYGROUNDS - The following action was taken: It was
moved and seconded to approve Temporary at 413,046. The motion was
defeated 1:3: 1. It was moved, seconded and voted 3:2 to approve Equipment
Rental at 4600.00. It was moved and seconded that New Equipment be
approved at 42,963. The motion was defeated 1:4. It was moved, seconded
and voted 5:0 that Total Salaries be approved at 469,420 and Total
Expenses at 419,463, for a total of 4108,903.
The Board reviewed Sheet 13- FORESTRY - It was moved, seconded
and voted 5: 0 that Chain Saws be approved at 4525.00. The category of
Outside Labor - Account #452036700 in the amount of 42,000 was added by
the Department. It was moved, seconded and voted 5: 0 to create a
Christmas Tree Light Account in the amount of $3,000.00. It was moved,
seconded and voted 4: 1 that the Postage account be approved at 415.00. It
was moved, seconded and voted 5: 0 that Trees & Shrubs be approved at
43,690. It was moved, seconded and voted 3:2 to approve Advertising at
4132.00. It was moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to approve Salaries at
486,660 and Expenses at 419,416 for a total of 4106,076.

The Board reviewed Sheet 14 - Traffic Sign - Mr. Barker
requested a letter be written to the Board of Selectmen regarding policies
concerning traffic signs. When the yellow line specifications are drawn
up, he requested they be composed not only of therma-plastic, but also
that we get a superior quality and an average quality paint to see what
the bidder will come up with for a price an paint. He also requested the _
Department get in contact with the State of New Hampshire to compare their
specifications with ours. It was moved, seconded and voted 5: 0 that Total
Salaries be 84, 160 and Total Expenses be 812,959 for a total of #17,119.
The Board reviewed Sheet 15 - SNOW & ICE - The Superintendent
recommended that the Board vote the same level as budgeted last year. It
was moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to approve 894,652 for Salaries and
�I 862,348 for Expenses for a total of 8157,000.
It was moved to go into Executive Session at 9: 14 P.M. with John
Price, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, to discuss personnel matters to
reconvene in open session and the Chairman polled the Board as follows:

Mrs. Wood - . aye
Mr. Cowell - aye

The Board reviewed Sheet 16 - SEWER MAINTENANCE - It was moved,
seconded and voted 5:0 to table this sheet until further information is
available for this account.
The Board reviewed Sheet 17 - WATER GENERAL - It was moved,
seconded and voted 5: 0 to approve Water at $1,600.00. It was moved,
seconded and voted 5:0 to approve Salaries at $68,461 and Expenses at
$26,309 for a total of $94,770.
The Board reviewed Sheet 18 - WATER MAIN PIPE CONSTRUCTION - It
was moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to approve $4,500 for Salaries and $0
for Expenses for a total of $4,500.
The Board reviewed Sheet 19 - WATER MAIN PIPE MAINTENANCE - It
was moved, seconded and voted 5: 0 to approve Pipe d Fittings at $8,643.
It was moved, seconded and voted 5: 0 to approve Supplies at $3,675. It
was moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to approve Hardware at $716.00. It was
moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to approve Meals at $55.00. It was moved,
seconded and voted 5:0 to approve Salaries at $141589 and Expenses at
$13,289 for a total of $27,878.
The Board reviewed Sheet 20 - WATER SERVIC� PIPE CONSTRUCTION -
It was moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to approve Salaries at $10,238 and
Expenses at $8,900 for a total of $19, 138.
The meeting adjourned at 10: 30 P.M.
