HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-06-21 Board of Public Works Minutes Board of Public Works Meeting of June 21, 1982 Page 1 ' The Board of Public Works convened in Room 127, Reading Memorial High School at 7:30 P.M. Present were Chairman Wood, Secretary Fallon, Board Members Barker and Polychrones and Superintendent E. Roger Louanis. It was moved, seconded and voted 4:0 to accept the minutes of the Board of Public Works meeting of June 14, 1982 as corrected. It was moved, seconded and voted 4: 0 to accept the minutes of the Board of Public Works Executive Session meeting of June 14, 1982 as written and that they remain in private privy. The Board reviewed the bids for the Color Coat Surface Treatment Contract 82-13. It was moved, seconded and voted 4: 0 to award the Contract to the low bidder, Rub-Kor America, 95 Beaver Street, Waltham, Ma., subject to their ability to provide proper performance bonds in accordance with their bid of June 10, 1982 in the amount of $11,055.80. The Board reviewed the letter from James F. Carlin, Secretary of Transportation, regarding the Public Works Economic Development Grant Application. It was moved, seconded and voted 4:0 to accept this as a point of information with a request that the Superintendent provide the Board with copies of his response to the letter. The Board reviewed the letter from D.E.D.E. regarding 805 Funds. It was moved and seconded to accept the letter as a point of information. Board of Public Works Meeting of June 21, 1982 Page 2 ' Mr. Barker amended the motion to instruct the Superintendent to file for the matching funds as soon as practicable. The amendment was seconded and passed 4:0. The main motion was passed 4:0. It was moved, seconded and voted 4:0 that Sheet No. 11, Bill No. 15, dated June 21, 1982 for a 70% Lateral for Eugene J. and Shirley A. Buzderewicz, 244 Franklin Street for Plat 208 Lot 25, in the amount of $246.40 be committed to the Tax Collector and betterments assessed accordingly. Under Old and New Business, Mr. Barker requested that the meeting with Camp Dresser & McKee regarding Change Order No. 2 should take place at the Water Treatment Plant because he felt it would be more beneficial to review the proposed changes at the site. After a discussion, Mr. Polychrones moved that the meeting be held at 8:00 P.M., June 28, 1982 at the Water Treatment Plant, it was seconded and voted 2: 1: 1 (Mrs. Wood opposed and Mr. Fallon abstaining). The Board signed the Payroll for the period ending 6-18-82. The Board signed the Bill Roll for the period ending 6-18-B2. It was moved, seconded and voted 3:0: 1 (Mr. Barker abstaining) to adjourn at 7:57 P.M.
