Present were Chairman Kenney, Secretary Cochrane, Board Members Leonard and Watt and Superintendent Welch. Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. Read note from the Superintendent in regard to the de- lay in turning on lights at the skating areas. The Superintendent stated that in his opinion the lights should not be turned on until the ice is at least four inches thick. The Board received report from Camp, Dresser & McKee regarding excavation at 100 Acre. In brief, the report states that in their opinion anything which has been done there now will not affect our water supply. If it is continued across the meadow to a point where the river has been widened, then it un- doubtedly will have a damaging effect on the water supply. The Board Members will study the report. The Board adjourned temporarily at 7:55 P.M. to meet as the Board of Survey. The Board reconvened at 8:45 P.M. The Superintendent presented to the Board comparison of estimated costs relating to rubbish disposal, including in- cineration, sanitary land fill, yard pick-up, etc. Certain in- formation was based on figures taken from the Camp, Dresser & McKee report. The Board agreed to accept the data as a point of Information. 134 - Read letter from Austin Preparatory School request- ing that the roadway leading from Willow Street to Austin Preparatory School be plowed on the occasion of such snowfall as would render the roadway impassable to vehicular traffic. In support of the application, the letter cites the public utility and convenience of this service for residents of the Town and others as well as the necessity of providing access to the School for fire equipment and emergency vehicles. Mr. Watt moved that Austin Preparatory School be ad- vised that private property should be plowed by a contractor but in the event of a breakdown, the Department will be glad to cooperate; Mr. Leonard seconded and it was voted. It was agreed that the meeting scheduled for Monday Evening, December 28, 1964, will be omitted. ' The Board signed the Billroll dated December 11,1964. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
