Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M.
in Room 16, Municipal Building.
Present were Chairman Kenney, Secretary Cochrane, Board
Members Florence and Watt and Superintendent Welch.
Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved.
Read note from the Superintendent with reference to the
balance available in the Sewer House Connection Account.
Mr. Watt moved, Mr. Florence seconded and it was voted
to request the Finance Committee to transfer $10,000.00 from Re-
serve Funds to Sewer House Connection Account for the purpose of
installing additional Sewer House connections (salaries - $7,000.00
and expenses - $3,000.00).
Read note from the Superintendent in regard to funds in
the Water Maintenance Expense Account and transfer of $15,000.00
from Water Surplus which would necessitate a Special Town Meeting.
A discussion followed.
Mr. Florence moved, Mr. Watt seconded and it was voted
to request the Board of Selectmen to hold a Special Town Meeting
in mid-October in order to obtain the additional funds.
The Board considered application for bituminous concrete
sidewalk from Ronald Michelini, 22 Wescroft Road.
Mr. Watt moved, Mr. Florence seconded and it was voted
to approve the request.
Read letter from Francis Dunn, 83 County Road, request-
ing permission to close off County Road from Wescroft Road to
Howard Street on September 6, 1964 from 8:00 P.M. until 12 midnight
for the purpose of holding a neighborhood cookout.

Read letter from H. Lee Donley, Chairman, Recreation
Committee, regarding construction of three new tennis courts '
along the west side of the existing courts with parking facili-
ties between the new courts and Bancroft Avenue Extension; also
letter from H. Lee Donley, Chairman, Swimming Pool Building Com-
mittee with reference to excess excavated material and loam at
the swimming pool.
It was agreed that Mr. Donley be advised that excess
fill may be temporarily stockpiled at the old skating area, John
Austin, Chairman of the Barrows School Building Committee, be
contacted in regard to additional loam, and the installation of
the new tennis courts would be taken under advisement.
It was moved, seconded and voted that the meeting go
into executive session in order to confer with Town Counsel on

matters pertaining to the Water Main Contract.
Mr. Watt moved, Mr. Cochrane seconded and it was voted
that the Board request the Finance Committee to transfer $1,384.00
from the Reserve Fund to the Water Main Construction Account.
The meeting continued in open session.
No action was taken on the awarding of the Water Main
Contract.
The Board conferred informally with H. Lee Donley regard-
ing matters pertaining to the swimming pool and recreation.
The Board signed the Billroll dated August 28, 1964.
