HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-01-14 Board of Public Works Minutes 3 January 14, 1964 Melting of the .Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman watt, Secretary Kenney, Board Members Cochrane and Florence and Superintendent Welch. Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. Received letter from Personnel Board relative to pos- sible classification changes. Arrangements were made by tele- phone to confer with the Personnel Board on Monday, January 20, 1964 at 8:1$ P.M. The Board discussed proposal to remove water main pipe assessments on two properties (Fitt and West) on Charles Street. ' The item was laid on the table pending receipt of information. The Board moved, seconded and voted to request con- sultants on Sewer Study, Garage Study and Refuse Disposal Study to confer with the Board of Public Works during the next month. It was moved, seconded and voted to prepare reports for these items for submission to the regular Town Meeting under Article 2. It was moved, seconded and voted to confirm Haverhill Street as the first choice for expenditure of Chapter 822 funds and to chose Willow Street as the first alternate and Ash Street (Main to Brook) as the second alternate. Received letter from Massachusetts State Department of Public Works listing bidders on 1963 Chapter 90 Construction pro- ject on Haverhill Street. 4 It was moved, seconded and voted to award the contract i to the low bidder - Northgate Construction Co. , Inc, of Wa7.tham, J Massachusetts. The Board considered financial statement of R. W. Jones Electrical Company. It was moved, seconded and voted to proceed with the Monitoring Contract with R. W. Jones Electrical Company. Received notice from Selectmen stating that Articles for regular Town Meeting in March 1964 must be filed on or before January 27, 1964. .
