' Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:00
P. M. in Room 16, Municipal Building.
Chairman Cochrane, Secretary Watt, Board Members
Florence and Kenney and Superintendent Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Conferred with Board Members Carpenter, Donovan and
Beyers and Director Boutiette of the Wakefield Board of Public
Works. The problem of rubbish removal as it relates to both
Towns were discussed in general. The Reading Board of Public
Works explained that they are preparing to ask for funds for de-
sign, contract and specifications and are trying to determine
whether or not to build for Reading only or for Reading plus other
' users. The Wakefield officials expressed a definite interest in
contracting for handling of their rubbish. No specific agreements
were made and the whole discussion was merely exploratory.
Considered table of proposed water department projects
submitted by the Superintendent.
It was moved, seconded and voted to accept the table
as a matter of information.
Received letter from Fundamental Realty Trust of Ash
Street requesting permission to connect roof drains with the Town' s
drain system.
It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the request
subject to the applicable Department regulations.
' Received request that the Town Dump be kept open on
Monday, December 20, and Monday, December 27, 1965 because of the
Christmas and New Year holidays. '
It was moved, seconded and voted to open the Dump as
requested with the understanding that this is a concession
granted because of special conditions and shall not be consid-
ered as a precedent.
The Board signed the Billroll dated December 10 and
Payroll for the period December 4 through December 10, 1965•
Meeting adjourned at 7:50 P.M.
