Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30
P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building.
Present were Chairman Cochrane, Secretary Watt, Board
Members Florence, Kenney and Leonard and Superintendent Welch.
Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved.
Read letter from Acadia Pools, Inc. relative to fill-
ing newly constructed pools . It was voted to allow newly con-
structed pools to be filled only when a special permit is obtained
from the Board of Public Works.
Read letter from State Department of Public Works list-
ing bidders on 1965 Chapter 90 Construction project on Haverhill
Street. Voted to award the contract to the low bidder, M. Ruta
Construction Company of Beverly, at the bid price of $62,991.50.
Received bids at 8:00 P.M. on installation of sewer
pumping station at Sturges Park and sewer mains in South Street
and Walnut Street.

All bids were taken under advisement.
Considered list of bids for bituminous concrete in
place to be used on Chapter 90 Maintenance projects. Voted
to award the contract to the low bidder, Trimount Bituminous
Products Company.
Received petition from New England Telephone & Tele-
graph Company to move Pole 96/15 on Walnut Street sixteen ( 16)
feet Northeasterly.
Voted to approve the petition and grant the now lo-
cation.
Discussed proposed gas main location in Pearl Street
from near No. 371 to near Main Street (Route 28) . Voted to
approve the location as proposed in Pearl Street. Signed plan
of proposed gas main location in Pearl Street. ]
Held hearing at 8:30 P.M. on proposed gas main loca-
tion in Grove Street from near Henzie Street to Forest Street,
and in Forest Street from Grove Street to opposite Spruce Road
Extension.
The following persons were present: -

Voted to approve gas main location in Grove Street
and Forest Street. Signed plan of gas main location in Grove
Street and Forest Street.
Held hearing at 9:00 P.M. on proposed easements for
storm drains and sewers in so-called Belmont Park Area. Ease-
ments are North and South of Belmont Street and Chequesette
Road, and lie wholly within the area being developed by Charles
Stamatis. No one attended the hearing.
' Signed Orders of Taking for drain and sewer easements
lying wholly within the development of Charles Stamatls known
as Belmont Park, and also for drain and sewer easements lying
wholly within the development of Dana Realty, Inc. , known as
Colonial Estates.
Copies of a short report on Rubbish Disposal were
given to members by the Chairman with the request that it be
discussed at the Board Meeting of September 13, 1965.
The Board signed the Billroll dated August 27, 1965.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M. to meet as the Board
of Survey.
