' Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M.
In Room 16, Municipal Building.
Present were Chairman Cochrane, Secretary Watt, Board
Member Kenney and Superintendent Welch.
Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved.
Read note from the Superintendent in regard to the re-
covering of streets with Bituminous Concrete as follows : -
Bear Rill - North Street to Summer Avenue 200 Tons
Summer Avenue - Woburn Street to King Street 350 Tons
Temple Street - All 400 Tons
Pratt Street - Woburn Street to Prescott Street 150 Tons
1, 100 Tons
' There is an allotment in the Highway Maintenance Account of
$6,000.00.
Mr. Kenney moved, Mr. Watt seconded and it was voted that
the program be approved.
Read list of bids received on No. 15 Pumping Station.
Mr. Watt moved, Mr. Kenney seconded and it was voted that the con-
tract be awarded to Francis G. Falzarano of Reading contingent upon
his meeting all the legal requirements.
Mr. Cochrane announced that the conference with Capital
Expenditures Committee scheduled for 7:45 P.M. had been cancelled.
Read letter from Richard C. Evans, Chairman, Swimming
Pool Construction and Reading Recreation Committee requesting that
' the Board of Public Works submit bill for cleaning the municipal
swimming pool and for subsequent sterilizing of pool water. It
was agreed that bill would be sent as requested.
Read list of bids on One (1) New Four-Door Sedan. Mr.
Kenney moved that the Department purchase One (1) New Four-Door
Sedan from Gray' s Ford Sales, low bidder, in the amount of
$2,095.60; Mr. Watt seconded and the motion carried.
The Board reviewed the steps to be taken in regard to
the Release of an old easement and the taking of a new easement
through the property of Charles Harrow from Main Street to
Hopkins Street.
Mr. Watt moved that the Board approve the taking of an
easement for drainage and sewerage through lands of Charles Harrow
as described; Mr. Kenney seconded and it was voted. The Board
signed the Order of Taking.
The Board adjourned temporarily at 7:55 P.M. to meet as
the Board of Survey.
The Board reconvened at 9:00 P.M. with Mr. Leonard
present .
The Board signed the following : -

Billroll dated June 4, 1965
The Board attended the public meeting celled by the
Planning Board to discuss plans for redevelopment of the Reading
Business Area.
Meeting adjourned at 10:15 P.M.

bettorment assessments, together with the location of
the land bsnefitod by the improvement and thensture and
amount of such betterment assessment.
And such list is certified to you for the pur-
pose of committing the same to the Tax Collector, as
provided by law.
