HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-11-07 Board of Public Works Minutes 103 November 7, 1966 Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:55 P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Cochrane, Secretary Watt, Board Members Hodgkins and Kenney and Superintendent Welch. Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. Public hearing was held at 8:00 P.M. regarding the proposed location of a jointly-owned New England Telephone & Telegraph Company and Municipal Light Department pole: - WALNUT STREET: Northwesterly side, approximately 712 feet Southwesterly of Hopkins Street, place one (1) pole. George Cooley represented the Telephone Company. Mr. Kenney moved, Mr. Hodgkins seconded and it was voted to approve the request. The Board moved, seconded and voted to approve the petition of the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company to install buried cable in Walnut Street. Hearing was held October 31, 1966. The Board signed Telephone Company petitions on the following: - Walnut Street - buried cable Walnut Street - place one pole Osborne Avenue - buried cable (hearing was held and request approved October 31, 1966) ' Read note from the Superintendent in regard to land in Wilmington on the north side of Concord Avenue just east of Route 93 and its effect on Reading' s wellfield. According to the Superintendent, providing no unusual industries settle there, no adverse effects would be felt. The Board signed the Billroll dated November 4 and Payroll for the period October 29 through November 4. It was moved, seconded and voted to go into Executive Session.
