P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building.
Present were Chairman Cochrane, Secretary Watt, Board
Members Hodgkins and Kenney and Superintendent Welch.
Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved.
The Board reviewed bids received on One New Pickup
truck. It was moved, seconded and voted to purchase the truck
from Grayts Ford Sales, Inc. in the amount of $1, 673.84.
Read note from the Superintendent in regard to a
sewer extension to 36 Fremont Street. A discussion ensued.
It was agreed that Mrs. Jordan would be advised that the De-
partment does not have sufficient funds in this yearfs program
to extend the sanitary sewer to service her property and that
she consider the possibility of adding an overflow to her
present system.
Read note from the Superintendent in regard to a
possible revision of the classification system with a view
toward placing the Department in a more competitive position.
It was agreed that the Board will meet with the Personnel
Board as early as possible and discuss the situation.
Read note from Mr. Welch with reference to two cellar
drains connected to the old Town drain off Sturges Road. Search
of the records failed to disclose a permit for the drains
' (Ercolini, 62 Sturges Road, and Laschi, 66 Sturges Road ). Both
parties have signed Releases from Damages.

Mr. Hodgkins moved, Mr. Watt seconded and it was J
voted to grant permission to Messrs. Ercolini and haschi to
connect to the Town drain subject to the usual provisions.
The Board adjourned temporarily at 8:05 P.M. to
meet as the Board of Survey.
The Board reconvened at 8:15 P.M.
Mr. Hodgkins reported briefly on the Recreation
Committee as did Mr. Watt on the Downtown Development Com-
mission.
The Board considered request of the Methodist
Youth Fellowship to conduct a car wash on the church property
from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on October 12.
It was moved, seconded and voted unanimously that
permission be granted.

Payroll for the period September 24 through
September 30
Meeting adjourned at 8:35 P.M.
