June 20, 1966
The Board met at 7:00 P.M. and toured Hartshorn
Street and John Carver Road in relation to sidewalk con-
struction.
The Board convened at 7:30 P.M. in Room 16, Muni-
cipal Building.
Present were Chairman Cochrane, Secretary Watt,
Board Members Florence, Hodgkins and Kenney and Superinten-
dent Welch.
Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved.
Discussed installation of bituminous concrete side-
walks on a portion of John Carver Road and a portion of Hart-
shorn Street. It was voted to install such sidewalks on the
easterly side of John Carver Road from Hartshorn Street to
Woodland Street and if funds are available, on the southerly
side of Hartshorn Street from John Carver Road to Bancroft
Avenue.
Approved and signed agreement with owner at 32
Pine Ridge Road allowing him to install his own bituminous
concrete sidewalk at his own expense.
Discussed proposed land takings off Grove Street
(Miller, Bryant and Berg) and the motions for action at the
Special Torn Meeting of June 23, 1966.
At 8:00 P.M. received bids for two trucks. The
following bids were received:

Discussed at length whether or not to recommend
rubbish collection to Town and at what time and what type.
Considered various rough costs of various types of collection.
Considered list of bidders on water pumping station
at One Hundred Acre Meadow. Bids were received on June 6, 1966.
A listing of the bid is attached hereto. It was moved, seconded
and voted that the contract be awarded to the low bidder,
T. F. McCarthy, Inc. of Beverly in the amount of $17,221.00
Held Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on proposed pole location
on the northerly side of Bradford Road 190 feet from Lowell
Street. Following persons were present:
Mr. B. A. Ravesi, 7 Bradford Road - In favor
Mr. George Cooley representing New England Telephone and
Telegraph Company.
Held Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on proposed telephone con-
duits in John Street and Haven Street. The following persons
were present :
Mr. Lawrence Webster, 92 John Street - In favor
Mr. George Cooley representing New England Telephone and
Telegraph Company.

It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the pole
location in Bradford Road.
It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the con-
duit locations in John Street and Haven Street.
Continued discussion of types of rubbish collection
and various problems of collection.
