' Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30
P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building.
Present were Board Members Florence, Hodgkins and
Kenney, Superintendent Welch and Finance Committee Member Mr.
Galvin. In the absence of Mr. Cochrane, Mr. Florence was Act-
ing Chairman.
Read letter from the School Committee in regard to
the grading of the Barrows School area. According to Dr. Wells,
the Committee was in complete agreement with the Board of
Public Works that a terracing which would provide two play
areas would serve the best interests of the School and the com-
munity. The project will be included in the Park Program. It
' was accepted as a point of information.
Read letter from Louis A. Adreani enclosing copy of
letter addressed to Edward Small outlining alleged damage to
his property. The data was accepted as a point of information.
Read note from the Superintendent in regard to the
agreement by John Bryant of Grove Street to sell to the Town
74,240 square feet of land for $2,500.00. The land is assessed
for $665.00. Also read was suggested letter of agreement to
be sent to Messrs. Miller and Bryant.
Mr. Hodgkins moved that the Board approve the purchase
price and the letters as written be signed and sent to Messrs.
Miller and Bryant; Mr. Kenney seconded and the motion carried.
The Board signed the Payroll for the period April
23 through April 29 and Billroll dated April 29, 1966.

The Board adjourned temporarily at 8:00 P.M. to meet
as the Board of Survey.
The Board reconvened at 8:10 P.M. and journeyed to
Wilmington to confer with the Selectmen of Wilmington to dis-
cuss acquisition of tax title land in Wilmington. The land
lies west of the Reading-Wilmington Town Line and east of
Route 93 and extends from the Ipswich River to the rear of pro-
perties on Grove Street. After a detailed discussion, the
Wilmington Selectmen took the matter under advisement.
