Chairman Donahue, Secretary Zanni, Messrs, Florence, Harrison and Kilgore and Superintendent Welch present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Received letter from Met, Dist. Water Comm, thanking Dept, for furn- ishing water to Stoneham during an emergency. Received letter from Employees Assoc, thanking Board for granting an extra holiday on Friday December 26, 1958 . Read note from Supt , relative to damage to fence at Ace Art Co, by Department sidewalk tractor in February 1958. Matter has been referred to Insurance Co. for their action. Received bids at b :UU P. M. on approx. 11,500 feet of 12 inch cast iron water main and approx. 3,500 feet of 1 u inch cast iron water main. A list of the bidders is attached hereto and herewith becomes a part .of these records. ' Received bids at 9:U0 P. M . on one new 1959 four door sedan. Bel Air - 2,2U5.00 Pierce Motors - Plymouth Belvidere- 2,257,00 Classen Bros. - Plymouth Belvidere- 23265,00 EIGHT CYLINDER CARS ar at on & Gr_aY - Ford Fairlane - $2,277,50 Blais Porter Chev, Bel Air - 2,305600 Classen Bros. - Plymouth Belvidere- 2,355.00 Pierce Motors - Plymouth Belvidere- 2,356.90 Classen Bros. - Dodge 2,464,00 In all cases delivery is 3 to 8 weeks, Received petition from 1S persons requesting Board to matte and main- tain a small skating area off Woburn Street oetween Nos. 155 and 163 on ' private property. It was moved, seconded and voted to inform the owners that for legal and budgetary reasons it would be necessary for the Board be deny the request. Received petition from lv abutters on Cape Cod Avenue from Lowell Street to near Wood End Lane requesting that this section of Cape Cod Avenue be accepted as a Public Way. It was moved, seconded and voted to place the petition on file to be processed in the normal manner. Xr. Pierce, of Pierce' Motors, conferred with Board with reference to' nis October 1958 water bill. Superintendent instructed to draft report for Board meeting of Dec. 22, 1958. 'Received letter from Carl Anderson, 362 Summer Avenue, protesting ' a sewer rental bill for November 1958. Be states tnat connection is in to his house out his plumbing is not connected to it. Taken under advisement pending a report from Superintendent includ- ing further information. Signed Commitment Sheet to Assessors for Sewer House Connection Assessment in the amount of y�166.78 at 56 Vine Street. Considered proposed new descriptions for proposed new classifications of Asst. Civil Engineer and Supr., Mechanic and Equip, operator. It was moved, -seconded and voted to approve both descriptions as amen- dad and submit them to Personnel Board for consideration. Copies of amended descriptions are attached hereto and herewith become a part of these record ' Considered proposed new classification schedule at length. It was moved, seconded and voted to propose changes in the Adminis- tration Engineering and Clerical schedules but to leave all others as is. A copy of the proposed sbhedule changes is attached hereto and here- with becomes a part of these records. Considered at length, a proposed list of salary increases for 1959. It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the schedule as amended. A copy of the amended schedule is attached hereto and herewith be- comes a part of these records . Board adjourned at lu:45 P. M .
