Hopkins, Kilgore, Zanni and Superintendent Putnam. _ Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Reconsidered vote of Board dated February 24, 1958 regarding salar- ies of Foremen and Junior Clerks. LMoved, seconded and voted to recommend to the Personnel Board the following salary schedule for Public Works Foremen: John F. Tormey-Present Salary $110.00 per week, Proposed Salary $115.00 per week. William Fennelly-Present Salary $98.00 per week, Proposed Salary $108 .00 per week. Moved, seconded and voted to not recommend changes in Overtime regu- lations concerning Foremen at this time. Moved, seconded and voted to present salary schedule of Junior Clerks Publicover and Selfridge as voted February 24, 1956. Moved, seconded and voted to require owners of housing developments to purchase water main pipe, gate valves, fittings and fire hydrants to Town of Reading specifications; and to reduce Budget Sheet 15, Water Depart- ment Main Pipe Construction, from $75,000,00 to $5U,000.00, or a reduction of $25,000.00. Received application for extension of sanitary sewer on Intervale Terrace, from John Carver Road Westerly, signed by thirty-one abutting property owners. Petition accepted, and filed for processing in usual manner. Moved, seconded and voted to install sanitary sewer in Intervale Terrace, from Jonn Carver Road Westerly, prior to Betterment Construction of Intervale Terrace in 1958, provided the Town Meeting accepts the Report of Layout of Intervale Terrace, Reviewed Special Articles Por'Annuel Town Meeting, On recommenda- tion of Superintendent, it was moved, seconded and voted to Indefinitely Postpone Articles 49 and �50, the Boston & Maine Rail Road Culvert and channel improvements to the Aberjona River (Birch Meadow Brook) between Lowell Street and West Street, in an attempt to secure State aid on these projects for 1959 construction. r Superintendent instructed to continue negotiations with Waterways Division of State Department of Public Works relative to the aforesaid culvert and channel improvement projects. Discussed Rouse Bill No. 154 of 1958 entitled "An Act Authorizing the Department of Public Works to Construct Bridges, Excavate Channels and Alter the Lynn Waterworks Dam on the Saugus River and its Tributaries in the Towns of Saugus, Lynnfield, Wakefield and Reading." Said legislation would result in extensive alteration of and enlargements to the Quannopow- itt Drain System, at an estimated cost of $239,800, one-half of which would be payable by the Town of Reading, plus land damages. Moved, seconded and voted to officially oppose Rouse Bill No. 154 of 1958 as it effects the Town of Reading regarding Quannopowitt Drainage Sys- tem improvements at the adjourned public hearing to be held in the State Rouse on Thursday, March 13, 1958; also to advise the Board of Selectmen of the action being taken by the Board of Public Works relative to this matter.
